Am I right to be worried that I will be paying to Lowell and in few years time original creditor might come after me, as it's them who the agreement was with? They say I will get the letter from Lowell, but really, any company could send me the letter saying I owe them, and I would like to get the letter from original creditor (Halifax). Thanks
Most of my debts are now with dca's including 2 with lowells, I didn't always receive a letter from the original creditor. I wouldn't worry they are a genuine company and have been good to deal with so far!

Hi,
Lowell are a specialist debt purchaser.
They will write to you, introducing themselves, and informing you that they have bought your debt.
With it being Christmas this letter may be delayed, but they will write to you.
Once a debt is sold it does not usually go back to the original creditor unless there are enforceability issues with the account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. RBS has sold my debt to someone, can't recall who off top of head, but they wrote and said...we have passed the debt and all our rights to xxxx. Which seems to me to make sense in this day and age of scammers left, right and centre, But Lowell are a reputable DCA (within the shonky world of DCAs).
If you are worried, look up Lowells contact details on the WWW and call them, they should be able to have you details of debt and any arrangements you have set up.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Probably best to keep away from Lloyds if you have MBNA debts.

Quite stunned, after months of complaining to Halifax about their failure to default me they have reduced what I owe them by £1000 and given me £300 compensation. Even if you are on a DMP dont accept poor service, you have a right to complain.I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.0
