Barclaycard and capital one are the only ones not to default me since 2011.

BC were the same to us. No defaults since 2009.. they still charged 5% interest each month & even accepted reduced F&F settlements from us last year.

UPDATE :- BC accepted the F&F and the account was closed last year. Have just seem my Experian Credit file and they have registered 6 missed payments against us. (the mpost they can do without a default) .. so, 4 months to debt freedom and 6 more years to get rid of that black mark :( !! B****rds !!!!

    Hello dmp'ers..

    A little update from me...

Having Cca'd my debt currently with PRAT sold by BC and previously an egg they have now sent a reconstituted agreement and a nice letter saying please ring to sort out payment.. This card was 2008 so I believe this is now enforceable and to be honest I would pay it anyway so have sorted a letter for them to include in my new self managed dmp..

I haven't CCA'd any of my others and unfortunately noddle only go back as far as 2010 so you can't check the age from that.. I do know all the one's I had from Jan 2008 (definately 5 of my cc's) so would have had during 2007 and before so may at some time send some more letters. One of them Halifax currently assigned to Apex is definitely on the pre 2008 list so I may CCA them in the near future just to see what I get..!

All of my other debts are still with the original creditors and even though my BC debt has been sold its still not defaulted.. little bu**ers..... I may play with them later in the year....

Glad I didn't post the letters out yesterday or I would have wasted a stamp on the PRAT..

Will post tomorrow and see what they all come back with...:p

Onward and Upwards...(downwards for the debt..)

Anyone have a loan with The Co-operative Bank?? They are the other creditor, along with BC, who are the only ones not to default yet!!

I guess this is where self managed comes in as I could have reduced payments to force a default, however SC don't offer that flexibility :(

Has anyone ever phoned a creditor and asked for a default??

    BDFSH x

I have asked both BC & PRAT and Creation who are the other one who haven't defaulted me but they just yabber on about how its better not to have defaults for your credit file.. yadda, yadda, yadda..

I did have success with Natwest as I had a loan/od and cc with them and they are suppose to treat the debts the same and 2 had defaults and they agreed and backdated the 3rd.

Not sure why they don't as I don't pay any interest anyway...Oh well good job I don't want credit EVERY AGAIN... bar my mortgage but then I will stay with my current provider so hopefully will be okay with that...

Really I just want the debt paid back so I can have all that lovely money to myself every month!

Puzz, please forgive me if I've got the wrong end of the stick here, but I saw from my Noddle account that one of my CCs dates from 1991. This may not be what you want, it just means account opened at that time not when any debt started so I'm confused myself!

Mine were with LINK (who MBNA sold my accounts on to) so not sure if all accounts shown will have the info and dates you need.

    Anyway, to find it:
    • Log onto your Noddle a/c
    • On LH side near top click on Full Report button
    • On LH side of next page click on Financial Account Information
    • This will bring up the list of all your debts.
    • Pick which one you want to see date the a/c started and click the plus button on RH side
    • This will bring up all the info about the a/c
    • The date info you need is fairly near the top, before all the actual payment details
I hope this helps:) although knowing how expert you are in all things DMP you've probably already done this and discounted it as not relevant;)

Thanks 2spicy - they are a pain aren't they?? However we are lucky as for now they have stopped interest. Getting close to our minimum payment with SC being over 1% of what we owe them and I've heard that they have been known to restart interest once the DMP payment exceeds 1% of the credit card balance. If they start adding interest then that may force our hand into moving to self managed.

In the meantime we can keep striving to achieve that elusive default!!!

Thanks CBC, I will have a play but I do know I was paying all 5 in January 2008 as I have it all written in my black money book...!

Just rang PRAT as they asked me to, so rude not to....another lovely scottish chap to talk to.. went through my plans etc and then I decided to go for the why haven't you defaulted me talk...He said BC defaulted me in October! after 5 minutes he comes back and says you should see it on your credit file in the next month or 2.. So I will wait and see if it arrives... very happy with that :D as long as it appears..

He did ask what I did for an occupation so I told him I was a debt adviser...:rotfl: And in answer to where do the funds come from to pay this each month.. " I rob banks at the weekend to get back some of the interest I have paid..." :rotfl: Poor chap must of thought I was a right nutter.....:D

Right off to do something undebt related as its all I seem to have done for the last 48 hours..

Couldn't agree more Puzz - just want to get those balances down to zero asap :)

Unfortunately our DFD is a loooong way off so it would be a bonus if we could get these last two predators to default. Unlikely, esp with BC, but we can keep trying!! ;) Just hope they stick to the 0% interest for the term of the DMP if they don't default and pass the debt on - could do without any battling regarding interest and fees!!

2spicy - that is awful  Can you ring them and ask what they are playing at??

You're so close to the finishing line - you don't want this to spoil what should be a momentous time for you :(

Hope you can get it sorted x
