If I'm going to make token payments will that stop them defaulting?
My brain is fried
But huge thank you x
There seems to be an opinion that its better to default than keep AP markers.
I disagree.
I've found recently Barclaycard are reporting my card upto date after approx 18months of AP markers.(while on SC DMP since 2012)
I'll continue with SC DMP and maybe in 2019 my credit report will get a we bit better.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

You want Barclaycard to default you ?
Stop paying them until they do, it's that simple.
Eventually it will happen.
They will then offload the account to there preferred DCA.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Depends if you ever want credit again really.
I'm 50 this year, and have decided not to keep playing the game anymore.
If I want anything now, I will save for it, not ask a bank to fund my dreams, depends on your age really, you may need a mortgage in the future, so you have to keep playing the game, I have decided the game is not for me, so I won't play anymore.
One day, you will see the game isn't fun anymore, then you won't play the game anymore either !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I think I am choosing the bits of the game I want to play and the predators don't want to play. Currently I am playing for 'Bank error in your favour' aka predator can't produce CCA documents
That said, I never want credit ever again - so in that respect I'm not playing that game.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

January, I've been in some kind of debt since I was 18, as I said, in a months time, I turn 50, I no longer want to play the game, and have chosen not to anymore, been in debt is a terrible stranglehold on young people, it keeps them coming back for more, a customer for life, and that is wrong, it's a sorry state of affairs that most folk are deep in debt and it's the big thing that no one talks about, ever, unless you subscribe to this or other forums, it's like an unspoken rule, I would hate to think my kids had to play the same game to get on in life !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Snap! My first ACCESS mastercard at 18 with a £200 limit was the beginning of the longest slippery slope.
I am very lucky in that my children did as I said with money and not as I did (not that i told them what a pickle we were/are in). 3 of my children are mortgage free in their 30s and one is renting. All are very good at saving for what they want. That means the world to meDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
I agree with you sourcates. I'm 50 in a years time. Our mortgage will be paid off when I'm 52. I don't want to play the game anymore either. We're never having credit ever again so it doesn't really matter what happens to our credit file. My plan is to pay the bare minimum only on what's enforceable and then offer F&FS within the next 2 years. The unenforceable we'll fight. I look back and I can't believe how much credit was thrown at us. We were trappedLBM 2/12/15 - total debt £62500:shocked::shocked::exclamati::eek:
2/216 £29500 unenforceable.

I had my family late in life, my eldest is 14, the youngest two are 5 and 7, I hope I'm around long enough to teach them the right way in life, I'd hate for them to experiance the kind of troubles I have had !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Having a bit of a freak out here, am moving from token payments to DMP on the 1st.
Set up the DMP with stepchange around the 10th jan
Have so far only heard back about one debt, accepting DMP and freezing interest for a year. I've heard nothing from the other 11 companies and 2 of them are with the same bank as on which has replied
Worrying, but trying to be positive0
