Type the letter and change the font for your signature to a handwritten type font, e.g. Alex Brush, Brush Script etc.
Otherwise just handprint your name in capitals. Important part is do not use your signature.
This was a trick employed by certain unscrupulous DCA`s a few years ago, they would cut and paste your signature onto a credit agreement, and swear blind it was yours.
Thankfully, those days have mostly gone now, and as there is no actual requirement for a creditor to supply a signed document anyway, it makes it less important to be honest.
You do not have to sign your request anyway, as again, there is no requirement under the CCA sec77-79, to provide the creditor with a signature on a CCA request.
Printing your name is sufficient.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi guys,
I've been away for a few years, still plodding on repaying my debts through the CCCS DMP I set up back in 2010. I'm getting to a point where there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Some but not all of my debts are at a point where I can offer some F&F offers. I've been away for so long I feel really out of it- is this what I should be doing? I wa thinking that the ones which are still too much will then get some money to be paid off sooner. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks xxMarch 2017 - Debt Free- cleared £21,750

Hi Sarah,
Depends really, are your debts with the original creditors, or with debt collection agencies ?
Have seen letters from Lowell, today actually, offering 50% discount on a particular account, its that time of year I think, tying up loose ends before the end of the tax year.
You would not get that kind of reduction from an original creditor, so depends on your circumstances really, as to if its a good idea or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi all I usually just lurk but I've been reading the CCA posts with interest and have a question. When I started my DMP with SC in July 15 I sent out the usual letter with token payment to all my CC companies and unfortunately (stupidly) hadn't finished reading all the past thread so didn't know not to sign! So my question is now they have my signature on my first letters am I too late to go down the CCA route?SPC No 086

Right, so getting my finances sorted for the month, letters drafted to creditors and new pin for Halifax account. Just a quick question, I am going to make token payments for a couple of months so can build emergency fund but where do I save this money?0

A few of us were talking on here earlier about MBNA.
Today I received separate letters relating to the two accounts I had with them, from LINK Financial Outsourcing. They were basically 6-monthly statements but part way down each letter it says:
The current arrears represents the outstanding balance as you have failed to maintain payments in accordance with the terms of the original agreement so the full amount has become due
Is this anything to worry about please? can I just ignore it or do I need to phone them?
Have any of you had dealings with LINK? What are they like to deal with? Are they one of the fairer/easier ones to deal with?
Sorry about all the questions but I panicked a bit when I read these letters:o. I thought everything was running so smoothly;)0 -

Thank you very much for your reply. Some are still with the original creditors and some are now with DCA's.
Its mainly the smaller debts now- at less than £300 that are with the DCA's and i was hoping if i could pay them off. I would have more to throw at the remaining larger debts which are the original creditors bar one. I have about £3300 debt outstanding in my DMP. Nothing outside of it.
I was thinking that it wouldnt hurt to ask maybe?
I have £377.02 to Arrow
£208.24 to Moorcroft
£94 to barclays - probably will just pay this one off.
£253.14 to vanquish
I have a lump sum of £500 that i have saved to try and get a couple of these settled . I know its not a lot, but i just want to try and be a little more proactive.March 2017 - Debt Free- cleared £21,750

Hi Fairyfingers,
You can CCA any relevant account, at any time, as long as the account has a balance remaining on it.
The fact you happened to sign a letter to them in the past makes no difference whatsoever, and has no bearing at all on making CCA requests to your creditors.

Hi Lucy,
Do you have a savings account ?
Jam Jar under the sink ?
Under the mattress ?
Its your choice where you put your money, a DMP is an informal arrangement, no one will be scrutinising where your stashing your emergency fund, as its no one else's business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi Car Boot,
Nothing to worry about at all.
The statement you have received, which they are obliged to send you, will contain generic information about your account, which, by law, they have to make you aware of.
Its computer generated, and will not take into account any repayment arrangements, such as your DMP, that you have set up, or agreed to.
