Converting Euros back to pounds

We've just returned from holiday in France, and have several hundred Euros left (returned deposit plus unspent cash).
What's the best way to convert these Euros back into pounds, to maximise the amount in pounds?
Thanks - Calum

Next time, pay the deposit in Pounds or if you have wired it over, offer to exchange the deposit for an amount in Pounds on arrival. For local cash, we have the Clarity, Metro Bank, Kalixa Pay..... No need to have wads of Euros...what were you thinking?
If you are in London, go to Thomas Exchange Global or similar. If not, are we supposed to guess? Exchange them with someone going out.0 -
I'm in Edinburgh.0

If you are within 10 miles of london i will collect and exchange at 1.42 euros to the pound....minimum 500 euros.........A company in southend offers to exchange at 1.40 to the pound but you will pay post office registered delivery and this will eat into you payment.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

You could always hold onto them until the rate moves in your favour, or keep the until the next trip.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Just find someone who's going to the Eurozone (you will find plenty of people) and sell it to them at the wholesale market rate. The current wholesale market rate is at www.truefx.com (currently down as the markets are closed for the weekend). There's no need to pay the bid-offer spread twice, only once.0

If you can't find anyone to sell them to, use this:

You'll probably have to send the money by secure delivery to London which will cost you £8 or so, but it will probably still work out better than going to the Post Office or a typical high street place.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
