If you accidentally open a normal door the wind pressure closes it again.

If you open a reverse opening door, the wind pressure pulls it wide open and you may fall out trying to close it.

You mean whilst you are driving along?

I thought the RX8's rear door could only be opened after the front door was opened?

    Why are they suicide doors?
    .
If you open a normal opening rear door to get out and and a overtaking vehicle catches it you loose the door..

If you open a suicide door and a overtaking vehicle catches it you loose your legs..
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Doesn't that depend on which way the vehicle is passing :D I agree you would have to be clueless to open it if a car approaches from the front (because you generally look forwards in a car), and careless to open it if one was approaching from the rear ;)

I have called them suicide doors all my life, (a very long time now) because if you want to jump out and kill yourself, you just crack the door open at speed and keep hold of the handle. ;)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Correct! We loved ours. Got it brand new from Mini Lincoln. Black with black windows. Named it 'dwarf hearse'...

As a fellow Clubman owner the door is on the correct side for me. Does take a little more planning when parking if people are in the rear seats - end bay preferably.
