Changing 100€ Notes

Off to Greece in a couple of weeks time and as advised by just about everyone, we are taking plenty of euros.
However our travel money arrived today in the form of a number of large denomination (100€) notes. Based on previous visits to Greece and that many places did not like €50 notes we got from ATMs, I can see a problem spending these.
Does anyone know anywhere in the UK where I can change these notes into smaller notes without incurring silly fees?
Thomas Cook would only change them if I converted them back to pounds and then back into euros again, which meant I will end up with about €60 less than I started with due to the difference between the buy and sell rates.

thats so annoying when it arrives in large notes , i have a couple customers a week come to my bureau with same problem , i will swap them over for them usually , Thomas cook should do the same , if not you could try at the airport or another high street bureau where a sympathic advisor works"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

I think you should be able to change these notes down in any bureau de change, apart from the likes of Thomas Cook, for free, if they have plenty of small note stock. If not, try another. Larger bills are popular with travellers to other European destinations, for ease of carrying, so a bureau may be happy to receive them.Evolution, not revolution0

Marks and Spencer have helped me like this in the past.0

Worth knowing that Ramsdens don't carry notes greater than 20 euros -and they had a really good rate when I purchased about 1 month ago. I got £600 worth in 20/10/5 s.
Did have a couple of 100 euro notes left over from previous trip. Supermarket wouldn't accept in Rhodes but my hotel did (for air conditioning charge) and I used the other without a problem at a restaurant.0
