The grocery challenge sounds good Gretchen - I think I should wander over there sometime!

I buy a lot of supermarket own brands - my own nearest is Mr T's and although it's not brilliant for being cheap over all, I find it is for me as I buy so many everyday value products - many of which are brilliant.

    Well done on the NSD!!:j:j

I'm trying to stock up with things a bit more - particularly items like shampoo, shower gel, loo rolls, matches, coffee, teabags etc that you can so easily run out of at the most inconvenient time (no pun intended LOL) and then have to make an extra visit to the shops, then end up buying other things and spending far too much!! Batteries are another one. And bleach. And washing up liquid....lol the list is endless!!

  • Had a bit of a spendy day today but all of it was out of my no smoking savings. I bought DD a new pair of trainers, OH a pair of named pumps and myself a new lap top. Oops.

I have never, ever had anything new like this before apart from my phone. Always second hand with old systems on. It was under £280 and got Off1ce and a security software with it and a bag and mouse and 1tb of storage. I was going to pay in full but they offered me credit and I thought I'd see if it went through as my credit score is getting better. So I have £16 something a month to pay for two years. That is just over two packets of cigarettes so that's how I've justified it lol.

It did take me 3 hours to set up though and in the end had to have remote access from the security company to help as it wasn't having any of it. They were fantastic but it still took them nearly an hour.

OH bought my DD a pair of branded pumps as well but they were in a sale so she's happy now.

Other than that been a rubbish weather day and felt a bit off tonight.

Tomorrow another day. Going to have a lie in. Can't sleep at night but can't wake up in the mornings either grrrr.

    Hope everyone is ok xx

    Hello Gretchen,

I read your diary a few days ago but didn't get a chance to send you a message.

How fantastic that you've given up smoking and are able to spend the money on necessary items. What a lovely contrast.

I don't even try to do anything like that on my iPhone as the screen size is too small and drives me mad! Sorry I can't help there.

I hope you're doing ok and feeling better. Are you back at work?
