Desperate for small short term loan
Good afternoon,
Apologies in advance for the length of this. But I am really hoping somebody will be able to give me an idea of where I can go for a short term loan. I appreciate that it is a really long shot but thought it must be worth a try.
To cut a long story short, I am in a lot of financial difficulty and have finally taken the decision to take my head out of the sand. As a result I have just started the process of commencing a DMP, having got myself into a lot of difficulty with payday loans etc. Anyway, the problem I have is that it is now 9th July, I do not get paid until the last day of the month, and I have absolutely nothing left. This is because I have left myself short (well, beyond short) in repaying a couple of the dreaded loans at the start of July.
I am hoping that the DMP will be in place for the end of July, but I am desperately seeking a small loan of even just £50.00 to get me through to this date. I haven't really got any family that I can ask, which is why I am hoping for any suggestion on here.
Apologies again but absolutely any help or advice would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

No-one will give you a loan of £50, least of all if you're about to enter a DMP.

Salary advance?
Got something you can sell?0 -
I hate these posts because they sound like you are asking *us* for money.
Do you have a CEX in your town? Take some electrical goods down and sell them for same day cash. I have alway had a fair price from them (though other buyers are available!)2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Sorry if you feel that is the case but nothing could be further from the truth.
The post was because I am completely out of ideas altogether. Tried looking absolutely everywhere for ideas but found myself going round and round in circles. Came across the MSE forum and figured it might be worth a try on the basis that other people are likely to have faced the same situation.
As for pawning/CEX unfortunately neither are options. I have nothing left that I can take. I am going to CAB later today to see if they have any suggestions/advice.
Thank you for your suggestions anyway.0 -

I think you are best asking CAB.
But don't be put off posting on these forums, the debt free wanabee section, is full of helpful people and is the best place to post, for someone in your position.
Many in that section, will be in or have been in similar situations and can give good advice.
This section of the forum, generally gives more straight answers, which whilst offering sound advice, can sometimes be a bit harsh for newbies, such as yourself.0 -
What's the money for ?0

^^ This.What's the money for ?
Depending on what it's for, we may be able to make creative suggestions to help you manage without.
For example .... transport to work - walk/cycle/car share.
Foor ... list what you've got in your cupboards, fridge and freezer and you might get suggestions on how to eke that out for a few weeks.
Either way, if you haven't already you MUST (right now!) open a new basic bank account with a bank you don't have any debts with, and get your income moved over to that. This way, even if the DMP isn't "in place" next month, your money is protected.
Strongly recommend you try the Debt-free wannabe bit of the forum.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Close friend/friends you could ask?
Temporary overdraft? Credit card?
Can you substitute making a late payment to something else and use that money instead? (obviously not rent, council tax or anything essential etc.)
Any Boots points, Clubcard vouchers, Nectar points etc that you could use to buy food?
As other posters have stated, what is the £50 for?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
you have the device that you are using (phone, tablet, laptop etc) to sell/pawn.
i am sure you have something to sell even if its the lamp, wardrobe etc in your bedroom/ tv/radio etc. there will be something.
Another loan isnt the answer. I am assuming your pay day hasnt changed date so why were you left short?GC Jan £431.490/£480.00  £48.51 under budget!0
