Help - bike snapped in half!

I can remember a whole bunch of people reporting problems with Pashley tricycles snapping at the junction of frame and upright. Despite all the evidence, Pashley simply ignored everyone, and maintained that each was an isolated issue.
One of the reasons I wouldn't ever buy from Pashley, under the circumstances Halfords are likely to blithely ignore this too. Sorry.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
You could take it to an engineering workshop and get it welded back together again.0

That is a very clean bike! So obviously looked after.
Can you remember an event close to the time you bought it, if you can get it down to a specific week you should be able to get them to print a receipt. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Hi folks,
Thank you all for the help. I'm really pleased to report that Halford's, as a sign of goodwill, have offered to completely replace the frame.
They said that usually they wouldn't be able to unless I produced the receipt but the failure of the frame was so unusual and could have been so serious that on this occasion they would be happy to transfer all the running gear on the broken bike to a new frame for me. Excellent customer service from Halfords on this occasion.
Once again thank you all for your help. I will post a pic of the "new" bike up once they have got it all done for me.

That is a great result. Halfirds do get some stick on this site but in this case I think they deserve some praise for going the extra mile.0
