I wouldn't mind if they gave the flats with stairs to working people but they don't and they don't keep the ground floor flats for the disabled..This positively contributing rule is a new policy in my town I'm on band B but it's futile when there's hardly any suitiple flats to bid on each month.. plus I am in and out having surgery and it is hard to move , I'm in again in 3 weeks and my surgeon always says it takes 18 months to recover from each one so I never fully recover til the next one comes.
I'm afraid I think that an excellent policy and one that I hope is introduced more widely in the future.
For yourself, what about moving to an area with a different policy or more of the accommodation that would suit you?0 -
I agree, building upwards is the only solution for an already overcrowded country. As I said, I am isolated as it is and the main thing keeping me from acting on suicide is my friends visiting me and the love we have for each other.. It is so hard to make new friends when you're in bed most of the time... It would finish me off to be in a place where I know absolutley nobody.. plus my surgeon is here. There is nothing I can do about my housing situation at the mo.. I'm going in 3 weeks for more major surgery...I have to shelve my social issues for now and focus on how I'm going to get through this next difficult and risky surgery...I won't reiterate what I have already explained in my previous posts.. My posts were not to ask for advice over my complex housing problems,I did not feel comfortable sharing any of my personal problems on this forum, but I felt I had to voice the kinds of social issues faced by our most vulnerable, like myself. Please respect that this MSE forum is my safe space, and keep this a safe space for everyone. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
