including HB is cruel, as rents are so high in this country

How is it cruel? People are living lifestyles they can't afford and expect the taxpayer to pay for it. If you want to save money MOVE! I have just moved from a area where a 3 bed house costs £1500pm to rent to a area where it costs £400pm. I have don this for me to be mortgage free and give my kids a chance of a better life. And the chance to get a property of their own.

I have to agree it's not cruel.

sorry Teabag I don't appreciate your CAPS, on the net, it is akin to shouting and is an agressive way to communicate on forums....Err, what part of "Homeless" and "Vulnerable" was unclear for you?

For your information, I am living in a sewage pit.. I have to bag my loo roll up because if I put it down the loo, I get raw sewage in my shower and patio.. I struggle with the steep stairs and I struggle to shower more than twice a week due to severe disability..I have carers twice a day and I'm not living in luxury as the Daily Mail would portray.. I am trying to get a council flat but because you have to be "postitively contributing to society" to bid on 3/4 of the flats and there are virtually no ground floor flats, so I am stuck in terrible accomodation. My landlord refuses to fix the sewage and threatens me with eviction whilst bumping my rent up beyond my HB allowance forcing me to pay a chunk amount towards my rent. .. I am trying to keep a roof over my head whilst in and out of hospital having major surgery.

I am not willing to be "socially Cleansed" and relocated .. I got my degree, I worked and paid my taxes here for 20 years until I became ill and it was a wrench to give up my career.. I would give anything to be working..I am not "living the lifestyle I can't afford", I am in poverty, I pay for all my care there is nothing left to cut...I am isolated, demoralised and living with a life threatening illness, .and the fear of further cuts is excasserating my severe mental illness..

I have no family, no kids , no partner, my friends are my family and the only thing that makes it worthwile sticking around on this planet for. I am in and out of hospital having major bowel surgery frequently and my surgeon is the only one willing to operate on me due to extensive damage from medical negligence. 4 years ago when my bowel perforated but due to the cost of a CT scan and the NHS cuts, , I was denied one until I fell into a coma 5 days later and looked death in the face. . plus ended up with a stoma.

We should be protecting the vulnerable in society.. and I am the vulnerable!..Please have some compassion for people living in poverty and without viable options and a deep fear for their futures. and don't tar everyone with the same brush .
This is what the government wants.. to turn on those even more powerless than themselves , blame and shame them. , and put up smoke and mirrors to deflect from the corruption and criminality of the Elite that rule our country...
it's back to the poorhouse mentality..
I'm not saying working people on low incomes have it easy, and also that there aren't people cheating the system, of course their is, but I am not one of them

Don't judge people parking in disabled bays without knowing their story ... you don't know their medical history and not everyone looks visibly ill.. apparently according to my friends, I didn't look too ill when I had sepsis , was in a coma fighting for my life in ICU 4 years ago! If it hadn't been for the life support respirator that was breathing for me,apparently, I looked ok. .

Don't forget anyone can get ill at any age, we all need the NHS , unless you are the super rich, and some of us need disability benefits and a roof over our head in order to survive..It could be you, your wife or your children..This is all probably TMI, but I take personally the attitudes of the ignorant,My body may be broken but I have a voice and I will stand up for the disabled and vulnerable among us.

I confess.. I am a high end junkie too! I do mix it up with drugstore too .. my beauty spending has been out of control this last year due to a lot of major life stress and I'm struggling to stop.. I went bankrupt 2 years ago, I do have a shopping addiction and I need to stop.. it's youtube beauty videos that fuel it for me but I have enough makeup to last me til I'm 80! I love high end perfume, no celebreiy ones, I like similar ones to you Donnac. Perfume does lift my mood

Maybe you could sell some of you expensive goods and move to a better property. Somebody only boasting TODAY that they overspend on high end goods does not sound like someone in poverty to me.

I have PTSD , BPD and on the Bipolar specturm, and yes, I ran up a grand and a half on a credit card.. not a bright move but along with self harm and bulimia they were maladaptive coping mechanisms due to getting cut off from the mental health team and the extreme stress I am under with my health... I wasn't prepared to out myself as having mental illness on that thread, but it's out in the open now , whereas you are just showing yourself up in an ugly light.

In many areas there are flats in high rise blocks with lifts - isn't that the case where you are?

It is the ban on people who are not contributing by working on 75%: of flats that is my problem, and the sheer number scrablling for the 25% There arn't many sky rise buildings here, most flats of the ones I am allowed to bid on have stairs.. I wouldn't mind if they gave the flats with stairs to working people but they don't and they don't keep the ground floor flats for the disabled..This positively contributing rule is a new policy in my town I'm on band B but it's futile when there's hardly any suitiple flats to bid on each month.. plus I am in and out having surgery and it is hard to move when I'm either waiting for surgery or recovering from being cut in half like a fish with 65 staples each time.. , I'm in again in 3 weeks and my surgeon always says it takes 18 months to recover from each one so I never fully recover til the next one comes.

Just to remind you of one of this forum's stickys[/COLOR]: Definition of 'disability' under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

    The definition

For the purposes of the Act:
substantial means neither minor nor trivial
long term means that the effect of the impairment has lasted or is likely to last for at least 12 months (there are special rules covering recurring or fluctuating conditions)
normal day-to-day activities include everyday things like eating, washing, walking and going shopping
a normal day-to-day activity must affect one of the 'capacities' listed in the Act which include mobility, manual dexterity, speech, hearing, seeing and memory
Some conditions, such as a tendency to set fires and hay fever, are specifically excluded.

People who have had a disability in the past that meets this definition are also covered by the scope of the Act. There are additional provisions relating to people with progressive conditions.

The DDA 2005 amended the definition of disability. It ensured that people with HIV, cancer and multiple sclerosis are deemed to be covered by the DDA effectively from the point of diagnosis, rather than from the point when the condition has some adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day-day activities.

Here is my quote you quoted:"my beauty spending has been out of control this last year due to a lot of major life stress and I'm struggling to stop.. I went bankrupt 2 years ago, I do have a shopping addiction and I need to stop."
I swung very high with my Bipolar the last year and was unable to control my impulses.. .. Having a bag has really messed up my self esteem and I carry a lot of shame.. makeup, , makes me able to face the day, even if it's a drs appnt... It mask the shame I feel and helps with my feeling like I'm a freak.
    However,
Since we are quoting each other.. here are some of your words of wisdom:

"Actually if you read carefully all my posts I NEVER say take away disability benefits from those who need and deserve them in some cases more money should be made available. However there is a growing crowd of people taking the money YOU deserve. Through forums and friends, self diagnosing made up illnesses nobody can prove so they can sit at home all day suddenly having "bad days" when the need to be assessed. As i have always said sit and watch disabled parking bays in a supermarket for 10 mins it will shock you the amount of healthy looking people jumping out of a brand new car without a care in the world. (PLEASE REMEMBER WHY PEOPLE GET HRM).

"It is amazing how many of the 0.5% are on this forum!"

"Most just see a blue badge as a added perk."

"Lots and lots! (Just look at any of the disabled parking in supermarkets) That is why the government is clamping down. However in the clamp down there is collateral damage which is regretful but as a country we can't pay for all these useless lazy dreamers sitting at home looking on forums how to screw the tax payer and the next 'disability' they think they have and are going to claim for next.
    "
"Another one giving the genuine a bad name and using lies to fund a lifestyle choices."

"It has always been the way when claiming sickness/disability benefits. Nobody ever describes how they feel day to day just their worst days. It just seems a lot have bad days once or twice a year on assessment days or doctor visits. That is why there are so many healthy looking disabled parked in carparks as it must be a good day."

The system is a joke and needs to change NOW getting the disability label is the highest top trump in some sections of the community.I have been saying this for years! I have just moved to a disability hot spot (17% claiming some form of disability benefit) in Wales (cheap rental while house is renovate), it is a joke. New cars outside, smoking ,walking the dog, down the pub, there is nothing wrong with these people. In two weeks of living here my wife has found a job in a shop so there is work. Most of the time the only thing wrong with these people is they are bone idle. And please don't give it all the "0.5% fraud rate", and the "do you realise how hard it is to claim" thes people all talk together and know how to play the system. Why work? It is also very hard to take benefits away from the disabled but they are TOO GENEROUS and we can't afford them. I would say AT LEAST half of the claiming working age could workots and lots! (Just look at any of the disabled parking in supermarkets) That is why the government is clamping down. However in the clamp down there is collateral damage which is regretful but as a country we can't pay for all these useless lazy dreamers sitting at home looking on forums how to screw the tax payer and the next 'disability' they think they have and are going to claim for next. .. ."

"Telling the truth and DLA application form is unheard of!"

"I have known for years loads of people are on dla just look at any supermarket car park at the amount of new cars in the disabled bays. 1 in 7 claim some forms of disability handout"

"It is this kind of gimme gimme gimme attitude that winds people up!! You see it time and time again on this board I just got pip or dla what else can I milk from people"

There are many more of your threads like these. And there seems to be a recurring theme around disabled parking and "lifestyle choices".
Your posts are offensive and ignorant.. there are many people that have invisible disabilities and don't use a wheelchair but cannot walk far.. People can't see my bag, my widespread arthritis , CFS/ME/fibro and the life threatening bowel disease. and the severe pain I am in despite a hefty dose of morphine twice a day.. I get dirty looks and abuse when I get out of my car with my blue badge and when I use the toilets with my radar key, .. People judge me because I am young and don't look ill. I have had 3 serious disability hatred events in the last 3 years .

Having a disability costs so much.. My bowel is so short I am on a highly restricted diet and that's not cheap.... Motability cars are the only way to avoid being totally housebound if you're disabled and poor ..If I wasn't disabled I woul'dnt need a car! I would be walking everywhere! I have a care agency and I pay all my allowance to the agency. . .

Life as an ill person isn't one long holiday, it's grueling, painful , isolating , boring and downright frightening.. It is definitely not one long party .. the government has been spreading their propaganda for years.. it's all about the Deserving and the Undeserving.. being disabled doesn't mean we lose our worth and value... we have beating hearts and we can give love and compassion to others. Being ill makes you develop skills you never knew before, humbleness and gratitude for the things that matter in life.
And society needs a mix of people.

By the look and tone of your posts, you seem to enjoy lurking around the disability forum and have a bee in your Bonnet to slate as many disabled people as you can and flame a forum where there are bound to be vulnerable people needing advice and support.

In case of any anbiguity.. here's a link from Wikipedia about Flame Trolling: : Flame trolling[edit]
Flame trolling is the posting of a provocative or offensive message, known as "flamebait",[14] to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a "flame") or argument over a topic the poster often has no real interest in.[15] While flaming can occur as a result of legitimate debates or grievances, flame trolling implies the intentional posting of inflammatory, grossly offensive or menacing rhetoric or images for the fun of it in order to cause others harm.[16]
As stated, flame trolling can stem from a variety of issues, including misunderstandings, frustration, and perceptions of unfairness. One motive (from trolls especially) is the desire for attention and for entertainment derived at the expense of others.[17] Posted flamebait can provide the poster with a controlled trigger-and-response setting in which to anonymously engage in conflicts and indulge in aggressive behavior without facing the consequences that such behavior might bring in a face-to-face encounter, a fact parodied in a YouTube video by Isabel Fay.[18] In other instances, flamebait may be used to reduce a forum's use by angering the forum users. In 2012, it was announced that the US
State Department would start flame trolling jihadists as part of Operation Viral Peace.[19]

What exactly are you doing, Trolling around on a disability forum when you are not disabled and on disability benefits yourself, other than to provoke , humiliate and cause harm to people in this subform? You have got what you wanted.. lots of negative attention and upset myself and the many people you have antagonised as seen in your quotes above.. I'm sure you will soon be moving on to another forum soon to repeat your online antisocial behaviours elsewhere.. You don't seem to be offering anyone constructive, intelligent critisism or advice. Maybe you are sitting back and gloating in your glory from poking the hornets nest. I hope though, that my posts ignite a shred of humanity left within you and that you are now feeling maybe a tiny bit of shame.

Cowards like you are schoolyard bullies. If my words today have helped even one disabled person on this forum who is struggling, it will be worth my while making myself vulnerable on here .MSE is a sanctuary for me, a community of mostly decent people and a distraction for my hellish ill health and excrutiating physical pain plus the crushing anxiety and depression that go part and parcel with illness and disability. Go ahead and flame me all you like.. you can't take me down, I'm already in the gutter where people like you think people like me belong.
