8 year old nephew birthday gift ideas?

This weekend I am going to see my nephew. He is now 8 and I have no clue what to take him. I dont see that side of the family very often due to the distance and work schedules.
I am under the impression that he is kept away from playstations and the such like so im a bit stumped at what else to get him.
My mum said he is into money in a BIG way at the moment, how much money does an 8 year old need?? Or is money even acceptable?

They bought him a motorbike and all the gear to go with it, so I would either be told something too expensive or he doesnt need anything lol, I know my brother!!!0 -

A Lego set? There is such a range now, there must be something he'd like. Or, if he's "into" money, get him Monopoly0
