I myself wonder how someone with so little brain matter is still alive0 -

Not for everyone but I find alcohol free wine helps while trying to cut down calories. The Reds are much better than the whites but it's like a placebo effect and you can kid yourself you are having 'real' wine!0

Well done on making a start. I know its easier said than done, but try not be to self conscious. I've always been overweight, and always swum a lot. I decided a long time ago that if a persons biggest problem was the size of my backside, then good for them. I have other things to worry about! (besides which, I like to imagine I surprise them when I whizz past
)
I've found it helpful to think carefully about what I'm eating, and make sure what I'm eating is delicious. It takes time to be prepared and cook from scratch, but I'm feeling the benefit.
Any exercise you do should also help deal with the stress, so that might have a knock on effect on the drinking. See if you can find an outdoor pool/lake to swim in (try the wild swim map http://wildswim.com/) Its good for the soul :A0 -
Don't fret. You see all sorts at the gym and I assure you no one cares. I go in before work. No makeup. Hair not-brushed. Scruffy gym clothes. No one bothers you. Everyone just does their thing. I never see any issues. Do try it.0

Agreed you need to stop drinking full stop, never mind cutting down. Good luck with it all.0 -
I was the same but my bmi was 43 when I first started. I think I'm at 34 when I worked it out the other day. My doctor said when I went about something else to take a photo of what you eat as it can be portion size that can do it (many times I've been out to eat and thought 'how on earth am I going to be full on that, but have started drinking more water, especially before meals, cut pop down (mostly leave it alone now) and have started to exercise more (I've cut down loads but i personally don't lose weight unless I do some swimming or running etc as I've walked at least 2 miles most days for 2 years and it doesn't do anything).
All the best and you'll have to keep us updated on here:T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

amysdad - how's it going? And that's not necessarily in terms of numbers, but any habits changed or new habits introduced, things tried and discarded as not working for you or things tried and working for you?0
