Need to spend as much time as I can with ds2 as he's off to China for a year next week teaching English at a uni there. Anyone with any tips on things to take etc great fully received:)
Also if anyone knows of a good deal on an electric toothbrush as he wants one for his birthday also next week.
Have my dads funeral next Monday, been nursing him at my parents home for 3 weeks, prior to him passing away on the 26 th. Hence not seeing much of my son recently. I don't do sympathy so no comments please.
Josie, unless your son is living in a rural place he will be able to get most things x100 -

Q - When is any food item not any food item?
A - When it doesn't match the image on the W4lkers voucher according to one store I was in last night.
So after waiting weeks for them to arrive I get a discussion with staff and still no nearer spending them ... and await Shopit reviews on many of the others ... I have really had to work for these vouchers. This is obviously payback for getting "a few" more than muggles.

Anon, Mr A SA make it as there go along! I was nearly made to buy a sandwich the other day, so I told her that I didn't want one and I had the contents of a sandwich in my basket and she soon shut up!!!We're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits.0 -

Nice to see Dipdap and good luck with the driving, just think to all the @ you can visit whilst the little dips are at school;)
Took the monkeys to t yesterday for lunch, cashback approved already. I think the sa thought I was nuts ordering and paying seperately for all 4 meals:)
Then noticed they had restocked the comfort so 3 more bottles made it into my trolley along with a few bbq bits no problem scanning the mocs the only one that hasn't scanned so far is the 25p off any Tesco ice cream.., sa had to input manually.
We're off out today... Might swing by Iceland for another chip tray thanks bubbs and op
Looks really dull here. When is summer going to return? The monkeys are desperate for the paddling pool out but it's just not warm enough:(0 -

Morning! Hope you don't mind an extra reply. Hope he will have a great time! I taught English for a year in South Korea (and had a fab time) and my brother is currently teaching in Thailand. My brother hasn't found anything specific he missed taking. He did wish he had taken a camera as he isn't sure where is best to buy there to ensure best price and not a scam and to get English instructions! I struggled to get shoes that were comfy- but that may be more female thing as they were all very high heels and I already felt very tall! Depending on his height trousers and jeans may take some time to find but they are available! My friends taught in China near Beijing and said there is a really strong expat community- I think there are some expat internet sites and she didn't struggle to get most things.
Is he planning to do some travelling while he is there? Its a good jumping point to see other countries.

Morning all - still murky here
Well its been a month now since I started to take myself seriously and start looking after myself properly
so instead of the old ad hoc fruit and yogurt as and when in the day time I now do my own version of muesli - tiny quantities of added dried fruit and brazil nuts etc. I then do my own lunch time smoothies with every version of fruit I have, oats, omega sprinkle, something green even if its just a bit of cucumber left over.
That then leaves enough for the evening meal and about 200 calories to fool around with - bag of wotsits or a glass of wine, aldi ice cream, more apples or whatever..
OK everyday is not perfect. On Mondays the cereal is skipped so I can have my weekly Neros hot chocolate. When we eat out its Pizza Express so I can have the lightweight leggatta pizza which is mostly salad and I can arrange the day around it. But mostly everything is counted and recorded.
some things are def out eg OH and his slabs of crusty bread and butter and chips on a Saturday afternoon
but otherwise I just weigh everything and settle for much smaller portions - eg 20g of very thinly sliced or grated cheese rather than unrestricted mounds
I've also been keeping up with the steps and keeping myself active.
so after all of this effort what do you think the results are- bearing in mind most people also loose good amounts in the first 2 weeks which is mostly water.
3 pounds
that's all I've lost in 4 weeks
not even on target. Oh well at least its going in the right direction, just have to keep plodding onwards. At this rate though by the time there is a significant difference it will be winter again, end of September and I'll be in 12 layers of clothing so no one will notice or care how much more lithe and lovleey I have got ...:rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
