No luck with a handbag ladies:o

Thanks for your link earlier E.....there's some really good prices for good quality leather:T

I got tired of looking to be honest. I just wanted to sit in the sunshine and eat/ drink / people watch:T I actually realised that I had a NineWest bag which a friend bought me for a significant birthday which hasn't seen light of day for many a year. I've dragged it out and do you know it's not too shabby. It will come fully out of retirement and be introduced to whoopsie time at T tomorrow.:T

Just checked all the crisps I've been saving till last.....the ones I've bought with vouchers and not a single winner:rotfl:

So there I was - when the 6 pack (300g) Quorn frozen "Low Fat" Sausages went to £1 in M (before they shot back up to £1.99:eek:) and when the LM 6 pack sausages were £1, I was nowadays saying on my list that they were not as good as when the 8 pack frozen Quorn Sausages went to 99p.

    Now:
    Quorn Sausages (10 pack)
    £1 in Iceland.

However, there seems to be some a little sausagey (a bit like something fishy;)) going on - I note these are 375g packs. Yet the 8 pack in M were 336g, which means that 10 at the 8 pack weight should be 420g not 375g. So it seems they are smaller sausages in the 10 pack but, clearly, £1 for them is better than £1 (or even 99p) for the 336g 8 pack. Even though, the £1 for 10 is like having an 8 pack at 300g:( (in other words a six pack) rather than 336g. If these were a six pack, they would nominally weigh only 225g:( whereas they 'should' weigh 300g. Of course I'm not accounting for the weight of packaging within that, as that's not easy to work out. Nonetheless, £1 for 10 sausages, rather than £1 or 99p for 8 or 6, seems somewhat better. However, 89.1p for previous 8 pack (336g) vs M (if that ever worked weeks ago - NB offer is *not* on now) would equate to about 99.44...p for 375g so, on weight, the APG on the 8 pack would have (only just) beaten the straight Iceland price on what looked like a good 10 pack.

For those of you used to getting 6 pack at 90p (10% off in the APG on non-glitching sausages:(), that works out at £1.12 and a half for 375g, so the straight £1, all things being equal, for 336g 10 pack is better than that.

The packs I saw are marked £2 in Iceland but they do scan at £1 (just as well:D:)). They are on "half price", which was, in my store, clearly marked so I expected nothing else. I think all the £1 for 10 sausages (as opposed to 6) shows is how flamin' expensive the supermarkets are (most times)!!

Regarding the LM 'plain' vegetarian sausages (6:() being £1 in M, I've found no evidence of them being that instore btw hence their absence from my list for several weeks - I've had £2 SELs in all of my stores except, last time, I found no pricing on them in either of the stores I checked and, as they 'can't be bothered' and as the 'offer' (if it ever was in the first place) is ending this weekend, I've left them off. I wouldn't bother anyway - at the £1 price for 375g, you should be paying 80p for 300g not 90p net:(:p:D:rotfl:! Really though, there "should" be a glitch on these flippin' things (which there never is:mad:) so that you should not be paying for them at all:D:laugh:.

Thank you for your analysis Savvy - unfortunately I am not in M regularly and this is the cheapest I could get locally.

Worth knowing the M prices if I am passing I will call in :). I don't think any A bags match the M prices do they to get the apg too?

    Thank you
    Anon

Looking at the wholesale prices link, for example Conference Pears "should" be 59p/kg (and even that's an increased price), not the £1.95/kg supermarket ideas. However, Savoy Cabbage goes for 51p a head so that may be worth comparing against if we see at 49p prices:D!

Unfortunately as far as I know none of the bags of apples in A have compared against M (at least not M on prices in M that would be good prices), as A sells by weight whereas M is by number (and varies as well from week to week). Thus, in my view, A is able to be an expensive and overcharging store as none of its packs are comparable to M whilst fruit prices at M are extremely often much better.

The only ones I'm aware of comparing against M were the Conference Pear packs when they used to be 800g years ago in A, before they reduced the pack sizes right down and they have not been comparable ever since:(, the Sweet Clems that were good when on £1 bogo'f' in M for one week in October several years ago and the Satsumas recently that were still worse than Aldi's best price at other times. The Satsumas of course are no longer on.

My best hope, fornlorn no doubt, for is that Aldi bring in some good Super6 on Thursday, as opposed to, for me, the useless current Super6 that doesn't include any apples, pears etc., and, for me, is continuing on and on for two weeks too long:rotfl:.

Otherwise maybe I should go for lots more of bananas - as they, at 68p/kg, are one of the cheaper fruits at the moment! Quite a lot cheaper than buying supermarket apples:rotfl:.

However, beware on the prices of fruit - not necessarily M Locals, but must be substantive Ms. Beware - I picked up a loose banana at an M Local recently - then I realised, it was about possibly 18 pence:eek: for a banana there (should be 9p or 10p on 68p/kg) as bananas priced in M Locals separately, not sold by weight - so the ones in M Locals are to be avoided as they are much more expensive!

Co-op have some 69p packs of oranges - however they are just 4 in a pack:(:(:(, as opposed to being decent 7 pack or even big orange 5 pack that Aldi (and then T) had some weeks ago - neither on anymore sadly - as with so much fruit, appears to be quite high priced at the moment.
