I do have a few more, so if there’s a particular one, I could look and see if I’ve got it.

    You’re welcome!
Yes, I agree, they say so much, don’t they? They can diffuse a potential misunderstanding in the text, lend humour, and show empathy. I call them the virtual body language of the forum......... text on its own can’t convey the wry smile, the cheeky grin, the touch on the arm, etc., but these little pixies can!
They are more of a faff than when they actually on the forum, but better than nowt!

I’ve just thought of another one of my favourites.........the aargh. Will go and fetch.....

I go aaargh!  a lot these days!

Ooh, I don't think I ever saw that one on the old forum Pyxis! Great stuff!

Trying to work out what to do with poor old Mildred. She's been a bit off colour for a few days, but still hanging round with the flock so we've left her out there with them. The last day or two her comb has been looking rather darker and a bit flaky and dry, and she looks a bit like she's struggling when she's trying to go down steps, like she's a bit stiff.

Her and Maud (our two distinguished older ladies) turned up at the back door on their own this morning so I let them both in, and they've been in ever since, having a warm and a rest out of the grey dreary sogginess outside. I tried to give Mildred an epsom salts bath... but she reacted as I always imagined a chicken would react to a bath (quite a bit of squarking, general confusion, and an expressed desire to GET BACK OUT of the bath immediately) so I'm hoping that means she's not THAT ill... It did mean I got a bit of a prod at her, and it doesn't seem to be anything crop related or stuck egg etc, not that I can feel anyway.

Given her a bit of crushed up asprin on some yogurt (as recommended last time by the BHWT) and the pair of them have just been having a bit of a snooze in the living room by the radiator like a couple of old ladies.

I'm going to worm them all again this week too - must be 3 months since I did it last but I didn't make a note. So hopefully that should get rid of anything internal.

Might see how she is tomorrow and ring the vets, although I think they're only doing emergency cases at the minute.
