Third Party EE Contracts

Does anyone have any experience buying through secure-mobiles.com? On the MSE comparatives it's by far the cheapest tariff for my usage on an iPhone6 for someone who is willing to pay more of the cost up front. The other option is mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.
Both of those are EE contracts, is there anything EE is responsible for when I buy an EE contract via a third party or are they just renting the network and all of my after sales support will be with the third party?

The phone is supplied by the third party, and normally EE have nothing to do with it.
BTW, my browsers can't get to secure-mobiles.com0 -
Yes, it appears that is the checkout link for mobiles.co.uk, I had not realised the MSE links took you directly to the checkout.0

There may be advantages in buying from other than EE as their iPhone will lock to their network as soon as you put a sim in (CPW does the same) so might be worth checking with secure mobiles as, for me, an unlocked phone is a big plus. As far as I know only direct from Apple and Giff Gaff will come unlocked (but happy to be proved wrong!).0

Grumbler is correct.
I purchased my current iPhone 5 from mobilephonesdirect.com. Yes the contract itself seemed to be with EE directly. The phone itself and the insurance were provided and set up by MPD.
I had no complaints, it was a good £26 per month deal, insurance was bundled in at about £6.99 (you could cancel at any time). Never had a bill above £30 on usage and there wasn't many I ran to £30 at all.
One downside I suppose is that they are a very small outfit, but when you get them on the phone. They are english and do serve you well. I was quite surprised by how painless my business with them was.
GiffGaff is also a really good place to purchase a new phone! Low monthly rates plus, you're not actually in a contract. They give you lots of freedom of choice as to how to pay the phone off! Such as one off payments for the handset, you don't pay any extra once the cost of the phone is payed off. Kind of like some the deals 02 are now offering.
I was with giffgaff for a few months on PAYG, loved everything about the experience bar the poor 02 signal quality.0
