  • It really does seem like there's a few of us. It's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling this way!

My aim is still to be consumer debt free by my 30th next June with the added goal of paying off all the money to my parents by the end of December. That way I can put away some savings which will be a good practise, I don't want to go from paying off one debt to the next forever!

After that my only debt in the world is my standard student loan and it's from 2005-8 so the cheapest one. I think right now it's cheaper to pay the standard deductions and it'll be gone in my late 30s.

Have a great day everyone, thanks for your messages! :kisses:
  • WHERE DID THE WEEKEND GO?

I don't think my brain is ready to go back into the office. I need to book some holiday - even if I'm not going anywhere, I think I just need an extra day or two off. Shouldn't complain as I have the bank holiday in two weeks but shall continue to do so anyway! :rotfl:

I need to focus more on NSDs. It's hard when you're not in your own house cause you don't have all the bits and bobs to hand that you might need but I've been terrible at meal planning and really need to start so that I know what to get at the store, rather than picking up bits and pieces that I fancy that day.

Three days until payday! It can't come soon enough!
  • I'm an awful meal planner too. It's on my list of things to do this week - cupboards are always overflowing but I always seem to be buying more food.

Yes! This! Why is that? Why can't I just eat what's already there? You'd think I was hoarding for winter, squirrel-style! :rotfl:
  • I have 5 tins of peaches in the cupboard - no idea why or what to do with them, so I ignore them...
  • That sounds like peach cobbler/crumble time to me as soon as the weather cools down!

Have just popped another 50p to the emergency fund which brings it to £90.32. It's surprising how easy it is to just shave off a few pounds here and there to add to it. Can't wait until it's over £100!

  • Well friends, tomorrow is FINALLY payday! I'm excited to start fresh with YNAB and stick to the budget.

I decided not to drink in August cause I realised I'd never really done that before. It's been surprisingly easy so far despite birthdays and work dos so I'm pleased. It's also great for the budget and I think I may stick to it for September. I still love a crisp, cold glass of champagne or prosecco and a good cocktail but it makes way more sense to keep them as an occasional treat.

I have my heart set on some duck feather/down pillows and duvet but rather than spending money that should go to the credit cards I think I might make it a challenge to use extra or earned money to buy them. Then they would be even more special.

Hope you're all doing well and having a great evening!

    Yay for payday :j

Well done on the not drinking, I really need to cut down. I find it easy to find an excuse (especially being off work at the moment) to open a bottle of wine. It's a habit more than anything which means me gaining pounds around my waistline and losing pounds from my purse!!
