We buy Any Car Valuation *Beware*

Just a heads up and don't know if this has been posted previously on other threads.

Was considering selling my car to these and they valued it at £690.00 with price held for 7 days. Luckily I sold my car privately for a much higher fee. Went into the website today just for fun and the offer is now £450.00.

So lesson from this is if you are going to sell to these people then you need to do so as soon as you have had your First valuation.

It does say in big bold letters that the valuation is valid for 7 more days on the email they send you. The valuation drops nearly every day, mine dropped £125 in 3 days so I rapidly made my appointment.

I received my valuation last Saturday and will be keeping my appointment this Friday so, as long as the info I provided is correct, should receive the full confirmed value, I'll keep you posted.

That is very true, but most people would probably think they are trying to frighten people into selling straight away and they will still come back again with same price after 7 days.

Not the case as they will drop the price considerably.

To be fair the price they initially offered on mine at £690.00 wasn't that bad and took a chance I would get more money selling it privately which I did. I strongly considered their offer and at least with them you do not have to put up with timewasters and the stress of advertising it. It is at least some money straight into your bank account.

Would be nice to know why you believe this to be the case as I can then decide if to keep the appointment.
I know that they are owned by British Car Auctions with the good motors being traded to other dealers and the remainder being sold at auction but after trying to sell on eBay with no success and local dealers not wanting any more stock I'm left with no real alternative.

Have you ever used them? Did you try to sell that car of yours with the skid marks on the seat after that guy "really frightened" you?

They would have been over your car with forensic precision. Any scratch, mark, dent, scuff on alloy would have resulted in £££s off.

Mine increased after a few days so it's not cast in stone that it drops after a week. Depends how desperate they are for the car.

Offered me £500, then increased to £525 but I sold for £1500 privately.

Problem is that when you've booked the appointment you can't get any more valuations, I tried earlier today and it just asked you to enter your email address to find the original valuation.
