HELP ME PLEASE Smart Parking ticket

HI all. I need some please. I went to Asda today with my 11 month old and 3 year old. After circling the car park a few time (unable to locate and parent child spot) i pulled up and parked up in a disabled spot.
I only did this as it's the safest way in order to get my girls out without hitting other cars with my car doors and without having to squeeze them into small areas. I have to obviously unloads 2 kids.
I was issued a ticket from "Smart Parking" it doesn't state Ltd with no mention of "behalf of anyone" ect. It looks like a hand held terminal receipt.
I am really upset that the only reason I did it was to ensure my kids safety. I totally understand it is a disabled spot and it without the intention of being rude or mischievously.
I'm really nervous about it. Should I pay it??
Please help

You had no right to park in a disabled parking space so hopefully you will never deprive a disabled person again of their right to park in a bay provided for them by law. Having small kids is no excuse.
Having said that, you should read Sticky thread for NEWBIES at the top of the main page to learn how you can beat this speculative invoice.
Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not mention what happened on the day.
Appeal to Smart Parking after you receive the NTK through the post. This will probably be rejected so you then make a second stage appeal to PoPLA where you should win if you follow the advice on here.I married my cousin. First, take it as a lesson that you have NO RIGHT to a special bay. Parent and Child bays are a gimmick not a right - next time park in a normal bay like we all used to (I have 4 kids and never used a 'special bay').
Disabled Bays are completely different and there for a reason under the Equality Act, unlike P&C bays which are pointless waste of space bays. Sorry but they are, they are not there because anyone needs them ('want' maybe but not 'need'). They are there because the Supermarkets wanted to make it look like they care about families and in doing so, they've confused an entire generation of parents who actually believe they 'have to' have a special bay.
Rant over!
Now go to the NEWBIES thread (near the top) and read how to appeal this around day 23 using the template. NOT NOW and NOT talking about what happened. And do NOT pay nor take any notice of the stupid 'discount' bribe as you won't be paying a penny. Two clicks and you are reading the NEWBIES thread - use the 'FORUM JUMP' on the right (bottom and top of this and every page) to get to the top of the thread list >>>>>>PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes... we know! Yawn!!!!0 -
just to be clear, you could go to old trafford and park in Bobby Charltons spot as it is big enough to do what you wanted, but you would have no right to park in it and can and should be issued with a pcn
I am disabled and those spots are provided BY LAW under the EA2010 for people with disabilities like ME, not for able bodied mothers with children like yourself
yes I understand your reasons, but you cannot flout the law for personal reasons, just like you cannot drive at 100mph to hospital if your mother was ill !
but, we dont like these parking companies acting as bullies, so please read and follow the NEWBIES sticky thread, appeal it, and learn your lesson and please respect the law for the reasons those spaces are there
if they had barriers round and we had keys for them, you wouldnt have parked there, the "invisible barriers" dont give you any rights to use those spaces, whereas I can , and I do , and I should do
here endeth the lesson
but please, please think about your actions in future, you cannot just "do as you like"
now appeal it, and I hope you win and accept the lesson learned
thank you0 -

Like I said, the Supermarkets have created the confusion and it's has deluded an entire generation of parents into believing that have some sort of legal 'right' to a wider/special bay. Nowhere else do you see parent and child bays except at Supermarkets (and maybe a few retail parks but they normally stick with proper disabled bays AFAIK).
Parents don't seem to wonder why on-street there are no equivalent 'parent and child bays'. It's because they are a figment of the Supermarket marketing teams' imagination, utterly meaningless gimmicky rubbish, not actually 'needed'.
Utterly different from disabled bays but the lines have been blurred so lots of people don't see there's much difference.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And I'm sure she'll be eternally grateful to you for explaining it to her.
If it stops her from being hassled again by a parking company in the future, I expect you are correct. Do you have any advice for her relating to the parking incident and how it can be prevented from happening again?I married my cousin.
