2week old baby settling problems

What milk was she on before the Comfort milk? (Assuming she was on a different one as that is for collicky/constipated babies?) I'd keep an eye out for reflux - try raising the end of the cot/basket up as that can help massively with reflux.
I found with all of mine it takes at least 3 weeks for them to fall into any sort of natural routine. I fed on demand and found it much easier than sticking to a routine. Routines are like marmite imo - folks either love them or loathe them. You just need to find what works for you and your family best.0 -
really? Well both mine did, diagnosed as such by a GP both times when they were less than 3 weeks and it gone on since they were 10 days old.
We had colic kick in at ten days too but I do think a lot of this is unrealistic expectations on the part of the OP.
For me I had no intention of setting schedules too early but found he fell into his own schedule anyway. Despite colic (early evening you could set your watch by it) -from six weeks he slept from the midnight feed (he was on demand feeds in theory but it was pretty much every three hours and didn't vary) til 6am .
My feeling is the early weeks you get through as best you can -and so long as the baby is gaining weight and the HV has no concerns -it's all good. Grab sleep when you can -and despite thinking you won't survive it- you will -just like we all did !
As for research I found most books a bit agenda driven so tended to use magazine articles instead. The bits that felt right I used -the rest I disregarded and relied on maternal instinct to point me in the right direction and it pretty much worked-certainly as well as some of my friends who followed one child expert or another religously- and often more successfully.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

This. I also did what was referred to in our family as 'Gina Lite'. I started it at 4 weeks when I began to feel like I was losing the plot because I'd been allowing him to sleep and feed on demand, and our little one was sleeping from 7 - 10, waking him up and feeding him, then sleeping 11 - 7 by 7 weeks, and he slept 7 - 7 at 6 months (only not before because we kept dream feeding him).
I know Gina Ford has it's critics and there are lots of people who don't like her methods (I had a stand up row with a health visitor who basically told me I was a terrible mother because they don't like it. She hadn't read it, but was repeating hearsay), but they worked for me, and a number of my friends. As with bluemeanie, I largely stuck to the baby feed and sleep times, with some flexibility for ease. As a result, I had a settled baby, and a happy toddler who likes routine, but manages change with no ill effects.
I'm all for doing what works for,you and being all over the place and no sleep wasn't for me! I'm pregnant with my second due 6th Oct. I will do a bedtime routine and no talking or lights on or,playing from 7.30pm to 7am to help distinguish between day and night from the start then start a routine from about 4-5 weeks.
How you getting on OP? Did any suggestions help?I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
