Having read some of the comments on here I was sceptical about opening a savings account...however,
Will I receive a new customer pack or something? nothing seem very clear...
Still with ING websaver, eventhough rates are rubbish I do find the ING web page easy to use....
I want to transfer £77k into this account, as I dont feel comfortable with ICICI or Icesave....THOUGHTS? whats the best way to do this without it taking too long and losing too much interest?
- I applied Sunday 12/08
- & have today received the access code & activated the account

You will receive a Welcome Pack with your account details on it. After that you should receive a form to sign and perhaps a request for further ID if you can't be electronically verified.
Once you return that form your account will lose its "Awaiting Authorisation" tag. Usually takes about 7 days after they receive your signed form.0 -
You may not get an 'awaiting activation' tag on the account. If you have been electronically verified you can start using the account. For example we applied last Friday for an account for my OH, today Tuesday, account accepted with the access codes. You can either transfer by BACS your 77k or take a cheque into one of Sainsburys Deposit stores and pay it into the customer service points using your account number see here........

That seems to be against the norm though.
My account was electronically verified and still required the form to be returned before "awaiting authorisation" was removed.
I have since applied for more internet savers which did not require a form and were available right away.0 -
Can't comment on that Jem, both mine and OH;s Sainsburys accounts were up and running in less than 5 working days without needing paper verification, guess were just lucky. There telephone helpdesk is also very good, and no I don't have shares in sainsburys lolLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

I have a question, i want to link another account to my Sainsbury account, i opened it a while ago, seems to be fine. But when i do to the drop down menu OPTIONS, the direct debit option is not there?
Now in the help menu, it clearly states that you should pick the direct debit menu under the options menu to add another account linked to your Sainsbury account. But the option is not there, Why i ask, WHY?????
Any help please help, is it time, or is it me?0 -
In the options menu go to payments mandateLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

Ok, so go to payments mandate, and here you can setup the external bank details which you want to pay money into from your sainsbury account. Is this correct?
And if you want to pay money into your Sainsbury account, you basically use your Sainsbury account number and sort code?0 -

Yes to both Kenny. You can also set up more than one account to transfer money to. I have two set up. It took a couple of hours to verify the second account when I set it up. Possibly making sure it's you who's done it? They sent e-mails, to confirm, using the address on the account.0 -

On line account opened four week ago, but still trying to get it activated for on line banking. What a useless system. Never had this trouble with other banking online.0
