  • We will share child care and work between us. I am unable to work full time but will do what I can. When I am not working I will look after the baby while she works.
  • I have never been to Japan but she has visited here several times before. I will try to work as much as possible. And when I am unable to work she will do.

Her visa will say no recourse to public funds. She has been here before and they always say that. We intend for the next visa to be a settlement.

My health permitting I intend to work as much as possible and do what I can to support them. If anything the benefits I claim will be reduced. And she will also work.

We are not trying to claim benefits long term. Just the opposite

As already suggested you need to get advice about the visa.

    Have a read of this:

    From that link ....

    Exemptions

The sponsor will not need to meet the minimum income threshold if they are in receipt of the following benefits at the time of application:

    Carer’s Allowance
    Disability Living Allowance
    Severe Disablement Allowance
    Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
Attendance Allowance or Personal Independence Payment

Instead, the sponsor must show that a foreign partner or spouse will be adequately maintained without recourse to public funds, and that they will not need to seek extra benefits at a higher rate due to the arrival of their loved one into the household.

If that is the case, what happens about maternity care, child benefit, CTC and so on ?

Child benefit and child tax credits would be claimed by the UK citizen father...who is entitled to claim them on behalf of the child.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to be the primary carer while she gets a full-time job?

And she would be eligible for NHS care

And then one wonders why non disabled people are starting to feel that they are the ones being discriminated again. I can't get my head around why a disabled person would have more of a need of a loving relationship than a non disabled person.
