Segment timer gets stuck at 13.00

Bought a couple of square mains mechanical timers from Asda a while back. The first one packed up (always 'on' whichever segments are depressed) but the other stalls completely at the same time each day. Should I try and squirt WD40 inside or something?

WD40 is a water dispersant so unlikely to free a mechanical blockage. Take them both back to Asda with the receipt, they should replace them FOC.0

That was its original purpose, but it has lubrication properties too. Bought maybe two or three years ago, so no refund due. In any case I bought them in a sale (80% off), so would only be due 60p each! Should have got half a dozen.WD40 is a water dispersant so unlikely to free a mechanical blockage. You've got nothing to lose by trying it.0 -
WD40 is non-conductive which is why it is sprayed on HT leads at 30000 volts to displace water.0
