Hmmm, can't say the list is going tooooo swimmingly - however, I still have one day left
.
- Declutter 100 items from the house: 73/100
- Tidy up the garage and actually make some room in there - I've started
- [STRIKE]Tidy up our main bedroom[/STRIKE]
- Clear out and move a large storage chest - this going to have to be deferred until August
I always find it hard to get going on a Saturday but I did achieve a few things today:- Did a main shop at Mr T that came in under 50 quid - took a voucher and enormous restraint but it's the last shop of the month and the food bills have gone up a bit now everyone is at home all day eating us out of house and home .
- Bought some paint for the garden shed, the kids are going to paint it :T.
- Defrosted the smaller freezer. Stored most of the stuff in the big freezer but also kondo'd a lot of stuff that is simply never going to get eaten. Most of it was leftovers from other meals so I don't feel too bad about it. I will be choosier about what I decide to freeze in future - unless it constitutes at least one decent meal there is no point in freezing it. Honestly, the dribs and drabs of stuff I have shoved in the freezer is just silly.
- Made a start on the garage and have some bags for the charity shop. More will be done tomorrow. Kondo'd some ancient tins of paint. When I have cleared a bigger area I suspect there will be more tins to be jettisoned.
Inspired by INOD's words, some appreciation of the smaller things in life:- Ate, with considerable relish and mindfulness, my very first red tomato from the greenhouse - it was lush.
- The runner beans are going to be absolutely prolific - we will enjoy our first very young tender beans tomorrow. Suspect I will be giving away a LOT of runner beans in the next couple of months :rotfl:
- My bee hotel has lots of new residents - I managed to spy a bee today building up their little nest - it makes me very happy to see wildlife thriving in the garden.
- A nice cup of tea made for me by DD1.
- Everyone enjoying my rather frugal but rather tasty tea this evening.
- A lovely helpful assistant in John Lewis the other day.
Will be back in the morning with Sunday's plans.0 -
Well, how is it the end of July already? The summer always does this - takes ages to arrive then whizzes by and before you know it, you are planting the garlic again and thinking about all the months of Autumn and Winter lying ahead.
But let's not be morose, there is still August and September to come. And speaking of garlic, I have two lovely plaits of new garlic hanging in the shed. I can confirm that the runner beans are delicious and so are the peas. There are loads of red tomatoes now - won't need to buy any tomatoes, cucumber or salad leaves for a couple of months at least. I have loads of beetroot, need to decide what to do with it. And I can feel some more courgette soup coming on
.
Had a good day today, got loads done. Didn't get the garage cleared out but got rid of quite a bit more stuff. The final result for my July targets are:- Declutter 100 items from the house: 134/100
- Tidy up the garage and actually make some room in there - I would say 10% complete
.
- Tidy up our main bedroom - DONE
- Clear out and move a large storage chest - moved to August targets
It is amazing that you can remove 134 things from the house without even noticing any difference. The level of clutter is amazing really. Still, I am looking forward to the final results

I'm finding it hard to believe it's the end of July already too.
Well done with the veg.
I can relate to getting rid of loads of stuff without noticing any difference in volume of stuff.
Well done for getting rid of so much. :j
I've made great inroads with my bedroom too, well done on sorting yours out. :j

You did really well in July P&F, well done!
This year is flying by, I'll be back to work before I know it
Good luck with getting on for August.
I challenge you to get just one item listed on ebay"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

After a long absence, I return to your challenge. As you said 'listed' rather than 'sold' I think I may rise to this challenge - watch this space.

Just dropping in to say I am still around, just haven't been posting much. Have been busy in August, getting stuff done in the garden and working some overtime, which will be nice whenever I get the money
.
Veggies in the garden are growing apace, loads of everything now, will be bringing some of the harvest into work tomorrow.
I haven't been feeling very well lately and it's hard to get the motivation to do anything. Hopefully I will shake off this lethargy and general malaise soon.
