Similar goals to myself in that plan on being debt free Oct 17 and in the meantime have both the house and garden decluttered and shipshape.
So good luck to you and me!:)

Hi svc, thanks for dropping by.
We do indeed seem to have similar goals, so we can head towards them together. I am great for making plans but not actually putting them into practice, it's one of my worst traits. But I am really quite determined this time. Please do poke me in the ribs if you spot lengthy inaction on my part.
What sort of garden do you have - big, small, country, town?
I live in a small village and my garden is medium-sized I suppose but bigger than most town gardens. Parts of it are in good order - the productive, greenhouse/raised beds/flower beds part. Other parts are a disaster area and the front garden is particularly neglected at the moment. Just keeping the whole thing weeded is a full-time job at this time of year.
Luckily though, I LOVE gardening - I am happiest out there, growing stuff, admiring my crops and listening to Radio 5 Live.

Hi P n F
Small to medium, but it is a nightmare! The soil is poor and it slopes horribly. I haven't done much with it as been to busy but this year going to take it in hand. Tough shrubs for the poorer area, perennials along the sides and I have just started growing salad veg so want to expand on that.
The saving grace is that I live within a mile of major city but I back onto a nature park so I am surrounded in mature trees, hawthorn, wild lilac roses etc so I count myself very lucky.
You sound like an expert on gardening matters!
I can also at times lose focus on my goals although sometimes that's ok for a short while, but i now have a little more time and and the need to do this.

Morning peaceandfreedom
I shall be following with interest. I love gardening too but with the amount of clutter and work to do in the house I don't spend enough time doing it.

Good evening all - Parsniphead and Doris17, thanks for popping in
.
I have had a highly unproductive day - was doing a bit of working from home but by lunchtime had to give in to a pounding headache and general bleeaaarrghh feeling.
Came to a bit later on to cook some tea, water the stuff in the greenhouse and put out some more bird feed. That's about it.
Still, tomorrow is another day - I'm off now for an early night and hope things are a bit rosier in the morning.

A quick bullet-point update for today
:
- Feeling slightly less bleaaarggghh today and went to work, felt way better by the end of the day though.
- Just taken some peanut butter cookies out of the oven and am deffo going to eat one before bed!
- Mange-tout in the garden has gone mad so I am now eating a big handful of raw mange-tout as snacks during the day.
- Tomatoes all still resolutely green - I am going to have such a glut when they start ripening.
- Spent £1 today - on parking 'cos it was raining so I parked close to the office, tut tut.
- On the plus side, DD paid back £20 of the cash she owes me.
- Slugs have decimated some of my newly planted cosmos so I'm about to go out and deal with them .
Lastly feeling very sad for all those people killed, injured, those who lost loved ones and those who were in other ways affected by the 7/7 bombings. Found all the remembrance services and online tributes very moving. So many lives taken or ruined by these horrendous acts.

Hey - Jwil my old friend, how lovely to hear from you :j.
The garden is doing well, it is just beginning to burst with crops right now, which makes me very happy. Well done on the tomatoes .
And yes, YNAB has been so valuable, I am evangelical about it.0 -
OK, so I may have been a bit spendy today
.
Popped out to the shops after work - and bought myself a nice little dress - it was half-price though and is very lovely for the summer. That, along with a little pair of ear-rings, has somewhat bust my clothing budget for July. I also bought some entirely unbudgeted-for chocolate.
However, I resisted the coffee shops AND although I was starving-marvin I didn't succumb to the lure of the fast food outlets. So altogether only minor damage as the clothing was only slightly over budget and I have already been into YNAB to make adjustments.
On the plus side, have received a teensy refund from Ocado and a £5 voucher to use for my next order.
Not much else to report and I'm off to bed now because it was waaaaaayyy too late last night.
Adios, amigos.
