Who needs prime?

Don't usually go out of my way to praise companies, however.
Ordered 3 items from Amazon (2 fulfilled 1 from them) yesterday at around midday, free delivery as over £20.
Estimated deliver Thursday July 09 2015 - Monday July 11 2015 (said the order would be split up, but same dates)
14:20 today and blokes knocking on the door with my package (all three items)
Doesn't get much better that that.

Could not agree more I do not think over the many years I have been buying I do not think any item has come on or after the stated date always before including parcels with no p&p from China and USA. Also with goods from China no fakes :0)0

I use prime (have done for a few years) for the next day delivery. I often have to travel for work with only 2 days notice and can be away for several weeks so relying on free delivery does not work for me, couple that with the amount of orders I place with amazon each year it works out far cheaper than paying for next day delivery on each individual order I place.
Having said that it is difficult to understand why most people who use prime bother with it but for some it is a big selling point in Amazon's favour.0 -
Perhaps the unlimited movie/TV shows for the price is the draw. Personally I am happy with my TVs' built in freeview but I know other seem to spend a small fortune IMO on Sky or Virgin for the films ect so having prime would hold nothing for me :0)0

Might not be getting the takeup they were expecting.
Down from £79 to £59 for the next two days. Still not sure I can see the value in it at that price though.0 -
Being able to order all sorts of little stuff under the £20 barrier is great. Knowing you can get next day delivery at a whim is great.
I've not re-subscribed since they put the price up, but i might now it has dropped0 -
I haven't subscribed to Prime but have noticed that things I've bought from Amazon which are free delivery do seem to be taking longer than they used to.
When I find myself getting irritated about an item taking 4 days instead of a couple, I try to remember what it was like in the days of Mail Order when purchases were expected to take up to 28 days.
We are SO spoiled now!0 -
I want to find items fulfilled by Amazon on the Amazon site so I find items to make up the minimum so I can use supersaver delivery. Any ideas?0

Keep a list of items that you will need at some future time in your wish list and use them to pad orders as necessary.
That way you don't run the risk of buying something you would not otherwise have bought, on a whim, just to save postage. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Not very MSE if you only need to spend a few pence more to get over the minimum spend barrier.
Sometimes it's cheaper to buy something extra for a couple of pounds than spend a greater amount on p&p.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
