Parking ticket - possible court action.

Hi there.
My partner received a parking ticket back in January this year and subsequently a letter demanding payment from a private car park company. As most advice regarding private car park tickets is to ignore them this is what my partner did. Today my partner received a letter saying that if he doesn't pay within the next 7 days legal proceedings will commence. I've uploaded a pic of the letter he received
I was wondering if anyone can give any help and advice on what to do next.
Many thanks!

Ah I can't get the pic to upload.
What it says is:
"Gordon & Noble messengers-at-Arms & Sherrif Officers have been instructed by the above creditor (MIL collections) to raise a claim against you in the Sherrif Court.
The pronciple creditor has requested that we contact you prior to the issue of a decree as part of their internal quality procedures.
Failure to provide proof of payment or pay the amount within the next 7 days from the date of this letter, may render you liable for a claim for costs in any event. A claim for the principle balance and costs will likely exceed the principle sum shown above (£145.00).
Unless a respons is received within 7 days of the date of this letter, legal proceedings for the recovery may be commenced in the Sheriff Court without further intimation to you , and may result ina decree being recorded against you and entered into your credit file. You will also be liable for all legal expenses up to £250.00 together with judicial interest awarded by the court. Grodon & Noble Sheriff Officers will then enforce any decree obtained which may result in an arrestment of earnings, attachment and auction of articles including your motor vehicle belonging to you."0 -

No it isn't, (in England or Wales).
Which parking company?
Who is the latest letter from?
You can't upload pics as a newbie, but if you host on tinypic or Photobucket, copy the URL, then paste that here, but change http to hxxp we'll do the conversion.
However if it's from Debt Recovery Plus, don't bother, we've seen the same letter at least a zillion times (maybe even more than that!).Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If the letter says WILL rather than MAY it's possibly a Letter before Action and if so will need to be responded to.
To help you identify whether it is or not .............
Who was the letter from - the parking company or a debt collector?
And which parking company was it?
You can post a broken link to the picture of the letter
e.g. hxxp://etc .............
One of the forumites will convert it for you
EDIT: Just seen your second post and the reference to Gordon and Noble - are you in Scotland ? If so you can ignore - there is no keeper liability in Scotland - do not reveal who was driving0 -
Are you based in Scotland? That's where Gordon & Noble operate. So back to the one question that we need the answer to.

Thank you everyone for your replies!
I'm not sure what the name of the car park company is. The letter was sent from MIL collections. Yes I am based in Scotland.
I've uploaded the photo to my photobucket, but this site is not letting me post my message with the link to the pic.
Thanks guys for your help!0 -
If you are in Scotland, you simply ignore this, do not get drawn into any kind of correspondence/conversation - and if G&N bother you again, instruct them quite pointedly to cease and desist - have a search here for some other recent examples of their dirty tricks, mainly over tickets issued in Dundee.
And don't be surprised if a new poster suddenly pitches-up here claiming that G&N eviscerated them financially and pauperised their dog. They have their eyes-about and have stooged this forum before. Take it as clear proof that we are hitting them where it counts.0 -

If the vehicle's registerd keeper lives in Scotland or the event took place in Scotland, you ignore everything and anything you get except real court papers. Only the driver is liable in Scotland so as long as nobody tells them who it was, neither the parking company or any of their agents can do anything about it.
The best way of not telling them who was driving is to give them a serioosly stiff ignoring.
Come back to this thread in the very unlikely event that you get real court papers.
