Having a stud wall built...rough cost?

I would mark everything out - three times. (So you cant make a mistake) then cut the carpet on the line whree the outer face of the plasterboard will be (+ 4 mm or so)
Then I would do the same with the laminate (but use a tenon saw)
Then install everything. Id also get it plastered as well - I wouldnt bother with waiting until you can afford it. Itll be £200 or so well spent (Itll hold up the job otherwise)
Then once plaster is dry, 2 mist coats then 2 final coats, and then install matching skirting and paint/ fill / sand that. It should now cover the nasty gap in the floor.
PS MAKE SURE you cover up the carpet and floor with 2 layers of sheet - itll get !!!!ed otherwise0
