Just tried to log onto my first direct account and the message came up that they are currently having problems and to try again later.

I've logged on no problem ?0

Most likely it's just a 'stock' message that pops up after any minor problem.
No problems here.0 -
the message says "sorry, there appears to be a system problem, please try again later". Only trying to make an internal transfer."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
-
Incidentally, I did make a small internal transfer.0
-
The internal transfer was to move my funds out of my regular saver as I wanted to set up a new monthly saver. The system allowed myself to move the money to my first account but when my husband tried the same he got the error message. However, he has been able to set up a new regular saver from today. Don't know why they don't move the funds as soon as the interest is added, Lloyds did."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Are you using a bookmark to go directly to the First Direct internet banking logon page? I've tried to do that in the past, but kept getting an error like you are encountering."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

I get this regularly. Just try and log in again.0

IIRC, they do move the funds to some savings account.
He does have an open savings account which they transferred his regular saver into last year.
He has tried deleting history etc and logging in and out getting same message obviously it was a glitch which allowed me to move funds out of regular saver. In previous years you couldn't set up a new regular saver until they had actually closed the matured regular saver so there has been some improvement."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
