O2 Mast down

Last Thursday after at around 1pm (I was at work), no internet based apps or webpages would work although my phone still showed as having 3G/GPRS. It was then intermittently showing as 'No Service'. I turned it off and on again which didn't help so I checked the O2 website. Live coverage updates were showing as fine so I used their live chat. They said it was regular maintenance work and would be finished in a couple of hours. It didn't improve at all by the time I left at 6pm.
I wasn't in on Friday and forgot about it, went in Monday and I had the same problem. I spoke on the live chat again (this time the live coverage was showing as a mast down). The rep said it would definitely be back up and running 'tomorrow'. Sure enough, the problem was still there yesterday but thought I'd wait until today to do anything as he didn't give me a time.
I've just looked on the live coverage checker and it says "sorry a phone mast close to you is not working" and then says they're waiting for a third party supplier to fix the problem.
So tomorrow will have been a week. I pay £42 per month for my contract and as far as they know, I've had next to no use for my phone during this time. Communication has been incredibly poor and being batted away each time I speak to them is so frustrating! I don't want to take the mick and demand money back for a week because the problem is only when I'm at work and I've only been there 3 days with the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? I definitely won't be renewing my contract with them when its due in September!
