We are going to go to DLP in June and I am going to book the food before we go but was wondering if I should go for the Lucky nugget to see the characters or a character breakfast? Any suggestions would be grateful!

Edit: forgot to ask when I tried to upgrade our room to the Admirals floor in Newport bay hotel was told that I couldn't as we took advantage of the 40% off offer, anyone else had this??

Personally, I would say Lucky Nugget.

Was there with family in Feb half-term, and we did both.

Character Breakfast at Mickey Cafe had no personal touch to it, where as the Lucky Nugget the waiters and characters seemed to want to go out of their way to help us, and make the whole experience more enjoyable.

They have recently made Cafe Mickey larger, but it seems they have not introduced any more staff or characters to cater for the extra tables.

have been going for 10 years, and wouuld def recomend Lucky Nugget over Character Breakfast.

Only downside is, Lucky Nugget is only open when the rest of the park is open, so you will be missing something else, whereas you can have b'fast with characters before the park opens, then go about your day....

  • Hi all haven't read it all but just wanted to say i booked to go in june and got 50% working for NHS (probably been mentioned already) I booked eurostar seperately.

I just wanted to pick the brains of people who have been before, i read somewhere else that the smoking is really bad there. I never even thought about this when booking is there smoking in the restaurants and hotels? I take it there are non-smoking rooms available although i wasn't asked when booked. I am going with a baby and very concerned about the room smelling. Any advice please.

been going to DLP for 10 years, as a non-smoker, and never noticed a problem

smoking wasn't a problem for us either.
people do light up outside the designated areas but I didn't experience smoking in the queues, just in the large open spaces. I have an asthmatic son so a bit more conscious of it.

can any one advise their opinion, this year we went february (mon to fri) 9th to 13th,

however have noticed that on their old brouchers january seems to be cheaper than february,

whats it like around this time is it busy? do they still have the xmas decorations the beginning of january? how crowded is it?

is there any negatives to going in jan instead of feb, (no kids going just adults so we can handle the cold just about lol) the one thing that concerns is that we intend to go on eurostar this time (last time we flew in) does the bad weather stop the trains??

also we are deciding which hotel depending on the price etc, stayed santa fe last time, which was fine for us, but am considering one of the nearer hotels like sequia lodge or if we can afford it the new york hotel, are the indoor pools open this time of the year??

have you looked at whether any of your local bus companies do trips to DLRP

i think public travel will take some doing, as i doubt anything would be direct. Have you also looked at flying or driving?
