  • MM, I realise that made me sound a bit spoilt, but i'm not! I'm 25 too and it is majorly embarrassing asking for handouts, but my friend has booked all the tickets on their credit card so don't feel I can back out now. I took me a long time to admit i was living beyond my means (6 years), but I am trying to turn that around, and this'll be the last splurge till I get out of debt, then hopefully I can get a mortgage to buy a house again and try and get it right this time!

I am 33 and never been abroad, we were booked once to go to Faliraki but my then husband had an accident at work and we had to pay for emergency dential work and the holiday went. We have children now so would cost mega bucks to go away now and you can't risk accommodation standards with children. So go now and enjoy it!
  • Aqua hun, you dont sound spoilt at all!!! I was just pointing out the fact id never been abroad, this is because i am 1 of 7 children!!! Most we got for our birthdays was a lampshade lmao!!!! go on ur holiday n have a fab time, you deserve it xxx

  • I'm 22 and have lived in 4 countries on 2 continents. Have been on about 50 planes in my lifetime. Lost count how many countries I've been to but I'm glad to be in one place and not constantly being moved around from place to place because my parent's couldn't settle!

  • Wow IA, sounds amazing! But take your point about having a base somewhere. Rayday your story is really sad! :( Have you ever been camping? We only ever went on camping holidays but they were the best fun!

I went camping instead of b***** Faliraki I hated it, it rained constantly we bought a windbreak to shelter from the wind and it collapsed on our tent and leaked, and I nearly broke my ankle walking round a bird sanctuary in Cornwall! So we came back and never again!

For our honeymoon (new hubby) we saved that £9.50 holiday with the Sun thing and went to Edinburgh. I don't mind really we went to Skegness this year in a flat during the huge floods (there is a theme developing here!) that was first time away since Honeymoon. The older girls have a nanny in Wales so they get away and holidays with children are exhausting so I am lucky not affording one lol!

Thats why I posted to say go enjoy it while you can!
  • Oh dear rayday! I guess i should count myself lucky i can go and just pray it doesn't rain cos we're camping over there! (looking up at sky - not rolling eyes!)

On another note, i'm still finding myself watching ebay and amazon like mad waiting for something to sell, it's so frustrating! Surely someone out there wants my stuff! :rotfl:

With ebay I find all the activity is in the last 12 hours of the auction but it is so bloody addictive watching them!

    Fingers crossed for sunny weather!
  • That means i've still got 5 days of nothing before hopefully someone bids! At least reading all the forums on this site is teaching me loads and passing the time (and stopping me shopping lol!) :T
