    Thanks Determined!

    Bob it's basically just to cover food, plus an anniversary card for my parents (although will look to see if I have a spare one) and coffee with a friend on Monday. Ooh and getting into the car boot! My OH will help with food too. We're going to batch-cook some chilli and have other stuff in the freezer so I'm hoping it's do-able!

    I reckon if you YS only you could do it. Do you have a Mr T nearby? I find when I'm on a very tight budget shopping each day at 8pm gets me most bargains.

    4. Updated spreadsheet and snowball
    5. Meals from stores
    6. My cat has received some vouchers from Waitrose which include a free tin of food so have put in purse to use on Sunday (Happy cat and owner)
    7. Entered Lorraine competition online to win a motor home
    8. Read subscription copy of Red magazine.
    9. Email Red to find out my subscription renewal date and price

    Afternoon all! Thought I best pop over as Bob hunted me down and now I feel bad that I've been MIA! No reason for it really just not been feeling very productive but must get myself back on track.

    Today I have/will:-
    * Post on here
    * Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    * Washing hung on line
    * Check banks
    * Pay £30 cashback from energy switch off CC
    * Update spreadsheet, snowball and signature
    * Go for a walk at lunch
    * Write meal plan (feel I can do this again now as lodger has left so feel in control of the kitchen again as never knew if I'd get home and he'd cooked!)
    * Write shopping list
    * Dinner from stores
    * Shop to list

    I think that's everything for today. I promise Bob I'll be back tomorrow!

    Good afternoon everyone :)

    Today I have:

    Made apple muffins to use up a couple of apples and slightly out of date eggs.

    Done an online food shop and having it delivered tomorrow, first time I have bought from a supermarket online. Spent £40, but that included stocking up on tins for store cupboard and freezer stuff, meal plan for 10 days plus tinned food and treats for the dog. I was going to go to Aldi later in the week, but realised I will have the dog with me and won't be leaving her in the car while it's this hot to go shopping.

    Also ordered dog's dry food online with free delivery, saving £7 over buying it from a pet store.

    Cancelled an insurance policy as renewal was too high, and got a cheaper policy, saving almost £4 a month.

    Chickpea curry tonight, left over from yesterday.

    Washing outside to dry.

    Hi all,

    Held my nerve and survived temporary promotion Day 1, thanks for your good wishes. Was relieved and comforted to see an old friend on my temporary team.

    Quick list:

    :grinheart Free ice lolly at work as temperatures in the building exceeded 25 degrees.

    :grinheart Wasn't going to go to the postbox this evening but went, and good job I did too, found a £5 note on the floor with no-one around looking for it! Gave £3 to OH.

    :grinheart Couldn't manage all of packed lunch so brought it home to snack on.

    Bagpuss - I am so glad to hear that about your Gran. I hope now you can try and get a bit of rest too.

    BB- Glad to have you back. The camp sounds lovely. I think thats half the battle when going away with people, trying to make sure everyone is on the same page re spending and activities, so frugal friends, especially BBQ ninja frugal friends sound great.

    Ally - Congrats! And nice roadkill there :)

    Twiggy - I will always find you....spooky face (tries not to giggle instead) check there is no bunny boiling on your stove (well not put there by you anyway)

    Hannah - Hope your DS is feeling better now? This weather is something else.

    Callisto - Did you check to see if you could get any vouchers off your online shop? Many of them will give you quite a lot off your first one. Might be worth checking around for best bargains for next time?

    Evening all :wave:
    Exhausted here after looking after a hot, fractious 18 month old all day. It was too hot to do the things we normally do, such as a route march round the town to look for dogs (her favourite thing), feed the ducks (well, I feed them and she watches and eats her share of the bread :rotfl:) and drop by the park, so I made a 'beach' in the front garden for her, with her sand tray and toys, a rug on the gravel and the Lakeland oven cleaning tray thingy filled with water :)

    Not as good as the dogs and ducks though! Hopefully it will be less hot / humid next time.We did both get very wet though :rotfl:

    Apart from that I have:
    Another NSD :j
    Meals from stores - it was a huge effort to cook tonight, but I am glad I did as we had salmon and HG veg and it was delicious!
    Messed up diet by having 2 glasses of wine after baby left :eek: (only very small ones though). OK apart from that, and I must get back on it properly tomorrow!
    Walked to the post box down the road and (baby) posted a card with a comp entry. Very grown up!
    Did a couple of onepoll surveys while she was asleep

    Still to do:
    Get all the toys, rugs and the garden umbrella in from the front garden so nothing disappears overnight. We have nice neighbours, but we live on a through road and unfortunately not all the passers by are equally nice :(
    Minimum of watering to keep everything alive, too tired to do as thoroughly as usual.

    Must do better tomorrow!
