An indoor aerial can work if the signal is strong enough. For this to work, you will probably either be close to the transmitter, or have line of sight to it.
Or you can possibly have an outdoor type aerial in your loft.0 -
It depends where you live. I have never used an outside aerial and I used to have a Freeivew HD box. Are you close to a transmitter?Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

No idea,how would i find out0 -
There's a map of main transmitters here:

This site can predict your coverage and transmitter, based on your postcode...

I have a USB dongle that can receive Freeview on the PC. It comes with a rubbish mini antenna. I use it indoor upstairs and it works fine, but I live in a big city and I probably have a repeater near me. So, you might not need an outdoor antenna.0

You need to purchase an indoor ariel
Bear in mind, that the page that tells you that you will receive all the channels, presumes you have an outside ariel.0 -
Before spending much money on a new indoor aerial, I would suggest asking around friends & family if you can borrow one to see if it will work.
Unless the signal is good, it probably won't.
Did you work out how far away the transmitter is?0 -
You could put your postcode in here
http://www.oneforall.co.uk/digital-aerials.html
and based on that, purchase an aerial from somewhere like argos which has a good returns policy0 -

Depends on a few things.
1. Are you in a flat or house? If the former, how high up are you?
2. How much do you want to spend?
3. Are you looking for a temporary or permanent fix?
When I moved to my current house, it had no aerial and I tried to make do with a cheap indoor one (probably £20 from Argos) sat on top of a shelf. It didn't give a great signal, and there channels would drop out intermittently. Not helped by it being fairly small and not far from ground level.
I ended up spending something like £100 to get a proper aerial fitted in the loft. It gives a brilliant signal with the bonus that it isn't affected by the wind."I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by."0
