Stupid questions from ebay users

Options
I'm currently selling a piece of furniture on fleabay on the basis of collection only. I've put loads of photos, detailed description and most importantly lots of measurements. Length, width, height and every other measurement I can think of.
So far I've had 2 questions from separate people asking "Will it fit in my car?".

Apart from pointing out that I don't know what sort of car they've got and politely asking whether or not they know how to use a tape measure, it's hard to know what to say to people like this.

Unbelievable.

I'd say no, as by the time they've put a measuring tape in the boot it will be full ;)

I get questions all the time which, if they read the item description, they would know the answer to.
I think mobile phones have something to do with this though!

I used to sell curtains in store and people would ask if they'd fit their windows. A chap who worked for me used to ask for them to bring their window in to check. They stood trying to work out if he was serious or not.

Ha ha, yes I like the one about the curtains!

I'll do the same thing and ask them to bring their car over to check!

We used to sell die cast models. Mainly Corgi etc. I've been asked if a car is a manual or automatic! It was listed in the correct section.

Despite clearly stating in every listing that people can't collect things from me, I still regularly get asked when things can be collected.

It is the most common question asked in pound shops.

The theme is that it isn't an Ebay thing or even a British thing, it's a people thing, they're often stupid, sadly, myself included on occasion.
