You might get those prices on an ordinary market but in a boot sale jewellery is often 50p each or three for £1 - and that is usually the sort you get at Tesco/Sainsburys, on a card and in reasonably this-season colours.

How much should i charge for things at car boot sale? was thinking of
    Cd albums 50p each
    Cd singles 25p each
    Books 30p each

I am assuming all these are fairly recent popular music and paper back type books? -
ie essentially mass consumption stuff now a few years old?

Particularly with the books, especially if they are hard backs and old, beware there may be a gem in there that collectors want.
  • today all they were after was perfumes, cameras & vinyl records if that is any help to anyone.

Well arrived at Bootle Car Boot sale at 5.55am to join massive queue of sellers, to be turned away at 7:30 as there were no spaces left:(

Had a quick walk round the stalls and most were selling junk, so will go back next week at 5am:eek: and hopefully get in.

There are other car boot sales I could do but last time I did a car boot sale here I made a fortune, admittedly it was all good stuff.

Anyway just had a sleep to catch up and am off to Centerparcs tomorrow so am in a good mood.

I've just remembered why I like ebay so much.

I did my usual car boot this morning, I was either freezing cold when the clouds were overhead or too hot when the sun came out. The smell from the drains from the portaloos were drfting my way and although ti was very very busy everyone seemed to want something for nothing.

I ended up making £27 and had to pay £8 for my pitch. Terrible terrible morning

  • Can anyone recommend a good car boot for sellers in Coventry/Warwickshire area?? Only do one a year and have previously done Furnace End but not sure if this is the best one in the area. AT7 looks smaller and pitch is £12 - does anyone know if it's worth paying for or is Mercia better? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

    Hi SB

CJs car boot sale at the Leamington rugby club is very good and always very busy. They are there every week in summer (until end of Aug) and I think the pitch is £8.

I'm going to do a boot sale with my auntie tomorrow. the last time i did a boot sale was with my mum about 15 years ago.

I'm not taking loads, but i just want to know if it's worth taking down a few items i'm unsure about:

posters - i have a few posters that i had in my room as a teenager (girls aloud, abi titmuss, slipknot and a few other metal bands). is it worth taking them and what would be a good price for them? 20p? 50p?

i also have boxes of whey protein meal replacement i bought ages ago but never used (and likely never will). they cost me just shy of £30. is it worth taking them down and sticking maybe £10-£15 on them or is this going to be too much?

football boots - i like to treat myself to nice football boots every season. the boots are in good condition (these boots - http://www.footballboots.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Nike-1.jpg). they originally cost £40, but they're just sitting in my room, looking sad and lonely, so was going to take them and ask for a fiver. again, is this too high/low for a quality pair of boots? i'll give them a good clean up before i take them like, but i'm just after some advice on them.
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

i dont know about the first 2 item

but i would start the football boots at £10 so long as they are in good clean condition , that gives room for them bartering you down

hope you have a good day
