Sending chocolate to the USA... do I need to put a CN22 form on the package? It's the customs declaration form.

Thanks!

+ I should add this is a gift, no one has paid for it.

    Yes

I send chocolate to US friends as gifts sometimes- I mark it candy and as a gift and never had a problem so far.

You need to put a CN22 on anything you're sending overseas unless it's a letter.

Wrong. Not within the EU you don't (with a handful of exceptions such as the Canary Islands and Gibraltar)

That's why I put 'overseas', I guess that was not specific enough for you, hey ho, there's always a pendant when you need one.

Is there any part of the EU that is not overseas from the UK apart from the Republic of Ireland? I seem to fly over the sea every time I travel to Europe.

How on earth is sending chocolate akin to having a foreign holiday?

There is a whole dedicated forum here crammed full of shipping/posting threads - why not use that!

I could be really pedantic and state that if you travel to mainland Europe via the channel tunnel, the journey is actually underseas

As I'm obviously in a pedantic mode today, I could point out that this forum is entitled "Overseas holidays and travel planning" and the OP is simply enquiring about planning travel arrangements for their chocolates.

True, but whichever mode of transport you use if there's a massive failure at an appropriate point in the journey you (or the OP's chocolates) are going to get rather damp:eek:.

What part of the USA is it going to? Will it survive in the heat?

Quick geography lesson - the UK is an island. ;)
