turbo fault after garage repair?help!
Hi everyone, i have an 07 plate zafira sri diesel
I had a repair done at a garage (dual mass flywheel and clutch). Picked car up friday eve and drove home, noticed it smelt a bit but thought it might just be the new parts. Yesterday took it out for the usual supermarket shop and plumes of smoke out of the exhaust. Pulled over checked everything- levels etc all fine (oil slightly low end of normal but still within limits).
We got recovered home as i wasnt happy driving home as this was very unusual and the car had never done this. The recovery driver informed me the car wasnt safe to drive and was 99% sure the turbo had gone.
Obviously im not looking to play the blame game but i just wondered if anyone knew whether this could have been accidently caused by the previous repair. Im aware with my car its fairly common to have to drop the engine and remove most of the components to get the the flywheel and clutch.
If anyone has any more info id be really greatful

Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.

I cant see how the two would be linked, however if there is a turbo failure, i would advise getting it independently inspected0

The first step is to contact the garage so they can tell you some lies. Of course it's not related. Your turbo was just about to blow anyway. It's unrelated.0

Maybe just a loose boost pipe.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

If you start the car and give it a few blips of the accelerator pedal, is the smoke that comes out the back black, or blue? All your base are belong to us.0

This. Sounds like they've forgotten to do a clip up.0 -

Agree with this, could be an oil supply/return or (possibly) vacuum pipe/BCV.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -

I had a pipe popping off a Mondeo a few years ago a few days after having clutch/dmf done.. Happened going up a hill in Yorkshire on a wet Sunday morning.0

I've had the same about three times. Once it was a clip had rusted through on the bottom intercooler outlet on a van, but the last two times have been after a clutch change on my wife's Saab 9-3, and a steering box change on my old Grand Cherokee... both of those were because I'd forgotten to do a bloody clip up0 -
Still not fixed, been back to garage twice now. Garage are suggesting piston rings but not conclusive, last time it was breather hose problems and was charged for oil and fortififier treatment which 'fixed it'Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right.
