Be very careful if booking via Teletext Holidays. London phone number held on 1hr 20mins to be booked up accepted their recommendations of Hotel and discovered it was 57km from where I wanted to be (maybe my own fault for not investigating properly ) anyway booked flights and Hotel accom. Flights from Manachester via Thomson Hols. to Catania. Flights booked Ok. approx £1k Hotel £1,080. Paid with a Debit card £2080 to avoid charges. Cancelled Hotel directly myself. Called for change of Hotel and accepted choice advised which was perfect BUT at an additional cost of £680 ok ... Then sorry glitch with the accommodation ... will call you back tomorrow 10am ..no call.. 2pm sorry was on my break! Hotel sold out.(Searched Expedia found 7 acceptable hotels in Toarmina cheaper than I had paid.) Anyway. I asked for refund of Hotel accom. Would only offer £680 so I accepted their next hotel not in the area I wanted plus asked for an additional £100. I asked for reference no for Hotel still waiting on it! although was told would be sent to my email address within 48hours. They've got 3hours then Time Up. The moral of this story is go to your local Travel Agents or trusted web site ...NOT TELETEXT !!!

l to booked a holiday with Teletext for 5 people to go to Benidorm for a friends birthday , atol certificate came through everything says Bendidorm , flights , transfers great arrived at the hotel 9pm on the wednesday night to find no booking in any of our names . Contacted the out of hours number only to find that we were booked in a hotel of the same name in turkey . They agreed to pay for the wednesday night and that someone would ring first thing on the thursday morning to sort out the rest of the stay needless to say this never happened , Rang myself and it was agreed that we could either stay put and not get the all inclusive that we have booked for or move to another hotel we decided to stay put as we knew the area and that was the end of the matter or so l thought . came to check out on the monday morning and got presented with a bill for 864 euros again rang the number on the atol certificate to be told do not pay the bill as this would be sorted , rang twice more only to be told the same l explained that we did not have this money and that the coach would be here in 20 mins to take us back to the airport for our flight home and was still told do not pay , but the hotel said we had to pay otherwise we could not leave . l then made the decision to pay the bill overthough it left me overdrawn at the bank . l have been in touch with Teletext since getting home and as of yet this has still not been resolved and l am still 864 euros out pocket getting really fed up with being fobbed of with excuses and have give them till this friday 3rd July otherwise further action will be taken

Just to even things up a little, i have booked through Teletext holidays numerous times, albeit some years ago and have never had a problem. I do tend to find that the price advertised is never the price you pay however, its never too far off.

They are a joke, I should have read the reviews first and taken note. They booked the wrong holiday for me, as soon as I saw the confirmation I rang back. They seem to find it impossible to believe that there could be two hoteld with the same name in the same geographical area, so have booked me into an industrial airport hotel instead of a family holiday one with a pool et in a resort! Either they tell me I am booked in to that hotel, that the agent phonetically spelt out the name, I agree, because both hotels have the same name and you would fly to the same airport!


So making a mistake is human, hiding from it, refusing to provide e-mail correspondence, not returning calls when you promise to make them is just like trying to beat me into submission. Well it wont work, I want my money back and won't use them again and will do as much as I can to make sure that others think very hard before they book with this bunch of clowns. AVOID!!!

I have had a very similar problem - TELETEXT ARE AWFUL. BEWARE!

Booked with Teletext for an all inclusive package for two people and tried to get a refund because of holiday problems. No luck so far despite numerous email and texts.
