The problem a lot of people have with fur is that it's normal for the animals to be skinned alive so that the coat stays fresher. Even fur bought in the uk can be made from dog or cat fur, people's pets are stolen off the street and skinned (usually in certain European countries and China).

Not all animals used for meat have their pelts used and not all animals bread for fur are eaten.

Please don't degrade yourself with the Eskimo etc argument. It's not normal for people in the uk to have to wear fur to survive, it's for vanity.

What are they supposed to eat? Big Mac n' Chips?

The deforestation of the rainforest's is being caused by the soy grown for cattle feed and to clear way for beef farms.

And it really doesn't make a jot of difference to the Planet. Majority of the World's Rainforests didn't exist 18,000 years ago. Besides there is loads more trees knocking about now than there ever has been.

Also, while 1 million people die of Malaria each year, And millions are starving. Millions have been murdered in Iraq etc etc. I couldn't give a stuff about a seal skins, rabbit fur and Chinese people eating dogs etc. And stupid Women who wrap themselves in fur.

There are more important things in the world than a Veggie's Agenda.

Actually most vegans are involved in human rights too. Though, seeing as you obviously know more than David Attenborough I'd have thought you'd have known that too http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/programmes/tv/state_planet/programmes.shtml

Nah - they're supposed to eat each other - Like cows eating chickens and then we all die of Mad Cow disease and as we're then all dead, Nature's balance re-asserts itself.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Most of that tripe the BBC spout about is exactly that, a load of cobblers. David Attenborough often makes stupid shocking statements, which are either grossly exaggerated or untrue.

I guess you either believe everything thing people tell you without question or Sift through the facts and BS.

Think about this, why should any of us believe DA or people like him, telling us about the Damage humans are doing to the World, and he's jetting around the world adding to it. His BS carbon Footprint is bigger than most of ours put together.

Another thought about the BBC link. It says that humans may cause mass extinction again.

If the Vegans had their way, there would be no use for cows and chickens etc. So in theory Attenborough could be right. Vegans could cause drive Farm Yard animals to extinction. If we all went vegan, in 100 years you'd have to visit a Wildlife Park to see a Cow or a Chicken

Grrr, that makes me cross. If animals used for food didn't eat all the plants/soya there would be plenty more for people! Feeding plant material to animals is incredibly inefficient. What a strange argument you put across. Why make sweeping statements and go on the attack?
And so much land is no good for growing crops!

You obviously have never lived or been to the Falklands, Orkney, or Shetland, or is that not in the UK/Great Britian?

Soy is not just grown for animal feed, it is also grown and imported for human consumption.

Most farmers prefer wheat/silage based feed. Pigs are fed on waste from the dairy industry, chickens will eat practically anything (including themselves).
The manure that livestock farmers produce is what keeps organic crops in this country growing, it is impossible to grow enough greem manure to do it, and it is illegal to spread human waste onto crops (unless treated by a mulitude of chemicals first).

Arable crops are more likely to be destroyed by extremes of weather, arable crops do more damage to the soil structure and increases desertification.

Fur and leather are not by-products of the oil industry, rabbits are a menace and not native to these shores, skins can be tanned without chemicals, all you need is wee and oak bark.
