All my radio listening is via the Internet. Its like have a new car with the reverse gear packing up after 6 months. Do your research & find good case law
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Seems like an easy court win to me. Radio was advertised as having an internet radio service. It doesn't have that now. Can't see how the retailer has a defence to that.

My retailer has phoned me up this morning and said that Sony are supposed to be issuing a software upgrade either Tuesday or Wednesday. We will see.
  • UPDATE and RESULT with a twist

    Small claims court not required.
I sent my hifi unit back to Sony, not to my retailer.
My refund was paid by Sony, eventually, not by my retailer.
Sony called it a 'Good will Gesture'
I call it an 'Admission Of Guilt'

Did it take long to get this result? Did it take notice before action letters etc?

I recently sold my previous radio source and went to use vtuner. After seeing it didn't work and doing a google search I see the service has been stopped. To those above who think this is acceptable, you should bear in mind that my amp has vtuner advertised on the box and Sony has failed to provide any replacement service, even so they're more than capable of doing so via an update. Internet radio was a reasonably important feature of the amp - which now no longer works.

For now I've contacted the retailer who I bought it off 18 months ago, so I'll see what they say. I'd prefer Sony to cover the cost though, provided that it doesn't take them long.
