Lifetime awards no longer exist, it's an award for an indefinate period - providing the criteria continue to be met and subject to periodic review.

I can only tell you what my husband was told me which I assume he was told by the dwp. As I was not there and privy to the phone call I can only say what he said.

I would not want him to have a lifetime/indefinate award anyway as that means he is not getting better which is the last thing I want.

Does it really matter what it's called. People who get the award will know what it is called.

I have only been dealing with the DLA for less than a year. And would rather not.

I hate to put a damper on your hopes, but I have been getting DLA fr over 10 years, and over 3 renewals without getting it for life. I also get top rate personal care ans lower mobility. I just don't think they do it for life anymore.

Why are you putting a damper on my hopes. The only hopes that I have is my husband recovers to 100% health so I don't have to help him with filling the damn forms in. And he can get off DLA and IB and go back to work and be the person he was before.

But I live in a realistic world and he will not and until my husband mentioned about the lifetime award did not know they existed. So really does not worry me at all.

Must remind him to fill the damn form at get it off as it is already late.

I think they can, my BIL has unstable epilepsy and will never be able to work again. His condition is classed as being terminal as it will eventually kill him (god willing not for a long time) he has been told he has life long DLA and hasn't had to have a renewal. Maybe it depends on the condition/disability?
