not a question just moral support if ok

I finally completed the renewal form for my DLA last week and got it sent off :j I *know* I just still get the same rate next time as I do now, as nothing as changed, in fact my health is worse, but I also *know* what the DLA people are like. so i am just writing this for a little encouragement while I wait ( 3 months seems to be about right for a decision just now) I get myself into such state worrying in case it doesn't get awarded again. I hate these blinkin forms, but waiting is worse :(

please don't spend your time and energy worrying. the criteria for getting dla seems to get harder all the time as the agenda seems to be getting people off benefits.

if you do get turned down appeal appeal appeal. (and get help doing it from cab or a council welfare rights officer).

Oh- and it will be alright in the end. really.

I agree don't worry. As has been said appeal against it if they say no.

My husbands next one is a crucial one as it is either going to be a life time award or another form in 6 months

I just love filling in the forms not.

    All the best.

Good luck, I'm sure it will be ok. They are nasty forms you live with your disability all the time, but these forms make you realy look at what you can't do or do without difficulty and make you feel low, so now its done happy thoughts only:j

Lifetime awards no longer exist, it's an award for an indefinate period - providing the criteria continue to be met and subject to periodic review.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

I hate to put a damper on your hopes, but I have been getting DLA fr over 10 years, and over 3 renewals without getting it for life. I also get top rate personal care ans lower mobility. I just don't think they do it for life anymore.

Good luck, I'm in the process of doing mine right now after having 2 reminders about it. I have good medical support & evidence, so hope that I continue to get the same level of care that I currently get. Will have to go to appeal if not.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Good luck with it, I had good supporting evidence with mine (plus a recent stay in hospital) but you never know with DLA :rotfl:

  • Just wanted to say try not to worry and good luck. If you have any inclination of a hold up pop along to your CAB and i know they will help.
