Amazon blocks negative reviews

I've been a long time customer of Amazon and I placed few items last week.

Today I received one of the beauty product and it was only half filled in the box - facial patches (72 out of 144) which was quite unbelievable. I've been using this product for years (but never ordered this at Amazon before) so I noticed immediately that half of product is missing.

This seller is official manufacturer of this product, very well known and fulfilled by Amazon.
I contacted Amazon immediately then they sent me return label which had no problem. Then I tried to leave an honest feedback on this seller but Amazon did not approve it until I sent official complaint feedback email to their customer service team which was after trying more than 5 times.

My review was honest, obviously I was not happy what has happened which causes me great inconvenience and stress.

Personally, I rely on comments and product reviews as I do lots of online shopping and this experience changed my perception of online giant merchant as they can manipulate them.

Moreover this seller marked as 'Bestseller' at Amazon and I can see that Amazon itself got involved as a partner.

I've lost trust on Amazon and will be more cautious of using them as they can do cheeky stuff.

    What was the review?

Did the review say 'Only received half of my order.'

Or did it say 'Only received half of my order which has left me extremely stressed etc etc etc' with lots more things which are entirely unrelated to your actual sale experience.

    Amazon rarely block negative reviews.
How do I know? I've written many. However, if you write like you're preparing litigation, I can see their point.
Oh, and you owe me £50 compensation for reading your rant.

it's not mandatory. but I think its good manners to contact the seller directly with issues and see if it can be amicably sorted before posting negative reviews.

I've found you tend to get better service that way... ;)

  • I've had two negative reviews stopped by them. One was for an Orange phone battery which didn't charge although the seller replaced it with another that also didn't work, and the other was for some shoddy-quality weak elasticated belts with cheap fastenings.

  • If the o.p. is read correctly it was not a product review but seller feedback.

I received half an order once and it was items needed for an event that was a few days away. I contacted the seller what said quite reasonably that it would have been a picking mistake and immediately sent a replacement.

Did it cause me stress ? Not in the least ...why would it

Okay, not a great situation but mistakes do happen.

Amazon/The seller however have setup a return as you stated so likely you'll get the full product or a refund.
My review was honest, obviously I was not happy what has happened which causes me great inconvenience and stress.

For pity sake, if this causes you "great inconvenience and stress" then maybe you need to get a grip on life! No doubt you'll be trying to claim compensation for "stress" next.

Can you post your full un-edited review on here as I'm quite interested as to what you wrote.

By the sounds of "great inconvenience and stress" you wrote a 3 paragraph review of how your life is now ruined and have to attend weekly therapy sessions over missing a few facial patches - no wonder Amazon refused to publish it!

Lol, thanks for replaying everyone, seems like I'm now accused as a drama queen!

I was obviously not happy since the half of product was missing but just ok. Then got stressed when I tried to leave a short, honest review on this seller - literally, just received half of product and I'm not happy with it.
That's the review that Amazon disapproved about 6times which got me so frustrated as I don't know why.

I've seen many negative reviews about people received broken products , melted down cosmetics which is totally useless (perhaps during the delivery etc) and complaints about slow delivery etc etc ,,, and I believe this is part of shopping experience that we have right to leave a review, not only with the product itself. Otherwise why other online giants like eBay bothers customer to ask rating on seller after sales including delivery time, seller response etc??

Perhaps I should have contacted seller directly however Amazon made much easier to go onto my order page then contact them directly instead of speaking to seller, unlike eBay. This is the user interface they created for their online market place so that's how I got into it automatically to resolve the issue.

Anyway, I accept that these things happen which is no problem as they immediately sent me refund label (but I still need to make a shot journey to go to internet cafe to print off as no printer at home and no internet cafe around the town - another cost , time to me if I refer this as inconvenience ) but I'm not happy about the way they disapproved my reviews so many times then finally posted the exactly same review once I submitted official complaint about this. (No complaint about product, refund process but this blocking review stuff)

I did some research after this review raw with Amazon yesterday and found some people had same experience which seems not right.

Whatever you may believe, you do not have a right to leave a review.
