iPhone 4/6 same SIM card?
Comments
-
It's micro-SIM for 4 and smaller nano-SIM for 6.
Extra plastic can be cut off, but nano-SIM is ~15% thinner that can be a problem.
Ask your provider to send you a replacement.0 -
I cut my sim down to nano and it fitted in my iPhone 5 & 5S ok.
Thanks for telling me. I hadn't realised.0 -
I'd recommend against cutting sim cards especially with iPhones.
As grumbler pointed out nano sims are thinner. Due to the way sim cards are inserted into iPhones, if they get stuck you won't be able to get it out = expensive trip to Apple Store and phone having to be completely disassembled.
Not worth it when most providers will give you another sim card of the correct type free of charge.0 -
What's interesting is that providers like EE provide the SIM's in popout format for any size.
Don't they care about thickness (as there isn't any issue)?
or maybe they have made all the sims thinner (unlikely)0 -
I think that the new SIMs are just thinner than the old ones. For any phone taking normal or micro SIM this doesn't make any difference.0
