What happens after scoring?

I've been told my job role is under threat and have been put in a pool. I'll be expressing interest in these other roles, but if i'm unsuccessful, do I still have a job? What comes next? Am I in limbo?

    As I would understand it {and I am no expert} if as you say your job role is under threat and you are not one that is successful then the chances are that you will be looking for a new job.
  • Yes, i understand that will happen eventually, but am really getting at what is the procedure? If i'm unsuccessful, does my existing job still exist until i'm given official notice of redundancy? Are there consultation meetings before notice is given? That sort of thing

    There should be consultation meetings and yes you will still have a job until the company gives the redundancy {ie they should not be able to say you were not one excepted to stay from the pool goodbye} it should work out that after the people that have been excepted to stay the rest should then be told that their positions are now redundant and a date will be stated for you to finish with that company.
  • Should there be an appeal procedure identified? Does notice begin immediately or only after the meetings have finished? What happens if they don't issue me with notice of redundancy immediately?

    Each company normally has their own appeal procedure so you would need to check with HR to find that out. Notice will normally start after you are informed that the position is no longer there and you should then be told how long the position you have will last for,at the end of that you would then be redundant so until you get the notice of redundancy you are still employed bu the company.
  • If my role is to made redundant by a specified date (there is a written down timeframe for this), will my notice period be deemed to start on this date?

    Yes it would, say it states your notice period ends on the 31/08/2015 and you have been told that you have 4 weeks notice you should have that information on day one of the notice period. You should also be give time off during that time to attend interviews for further employment after you go. I understand the it is a worrying time for you {as for anyone going through it} and getting as much info before hand is the best thing to do but I do hope that {if you are happy working for your company} you are one of the lucky ones and that you have the knowledge it is not needed :0) Good luck and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
  • Really appreciate that, thanks :-) if anyone has anything else to add, i'm all ears.

    I've now been through the pool selection and scoring and have been unsuccessful in getting any of the posts. Further up the thread it says I still have a job, even though i've been unsuccesful. Is that still the job role I have now? If it is, does that job still exist until I get my official notice of redundancy from the company?

    Yes you still at this time have a job. To confirm, you were applying for other jobs within the company, each post was give a score mark that you needed to get to have that position but as you did not reach the score you were rejected for it. Now you are back to the position you were in before all of it started.
    The next thing that should happen is a poss meeting with your powers in charge to say just what will happen with you. If redundancy is the way it is going to go you will more than likely be told that in your meeting. If you are going to be made redundant a date will be set for the last day you will be with your company and you will be informed how much redundancy you will get.
    If you are made redundant you should be give time off if needed to go for ant interviews you may be able to get without being penalised for the time off {ie no deductions from your wages}
