  • I applied at the beginning of July, and still have no welcome pack. I have got a card and PIN though, so I assume I have been accepted! Anyone else receive the card before the welcome pack? At what point can I start the switch and set up internet banking etc.?

Welcome Pack comes a few days after the card and pin. There is really nothing interesting in it - mine went straight to the recycling box. I would suggest you to start switching as soon as possible, if you want to do that over the phone, as it takes another four more for the switch docs to come though, despite of the cs rep's promise that he/she would send it straightaway. You will have to phone them again to confirm you still wish to go ahead with switch after receiving the docs and reading it through.

Add me to the decline list although I only wanted to upgrade my account to Advance for the Save Together ISA. I'm not surprised though with the amount of credit searches still showing on Experian from my Yorkshire Bank new year switching spree!
  • Thanks - I see on their website it says 'your old account will be closed' on the switch day - can you opt to keep it open?

Not if you want the switch incentive as you have to use CASS which closes the old account.
  • Welcome pack arrived in today's post. Tried to register for internet banking, but this requires a telephone banking code, which I had to phone and set up. Tried to activitate the account switch at the same time, but this is a different team only open mon-fri 9-6. Then tried to log in to internet banking but for full functionality (i.e. anything other than viewing the balance) I need a key generator, which takes up to 7 working days to arrive. by post... Going to be over 2 months from application at this rate!

Doe sanyone know if the £1,750 minimum funding requirement is per calendar month or 30 day cycle or...

My app was approved on June 26th but they lost the signed documents in branch.

Today I got a call saying that although they now have the documents, my initial application has expired :D they're gonna call again Today to do the application again & I'll send the docs directly rather than handing to a branch :s

I asked this question to an advisor on the phone this morning whilst I was setting up telephone banking so that I could register for Internet banking.

    They said calendar month.

I've now logged into Internet banking and set up a 6% regular saver. Debit card has arrived but no PIN or Welcome Pack, yet. It's taken almost a month to get this far!

Will set up the switch and Loyalty ISA with Save Together tomorrow

you might get a letter asking you to fill in a form to setup telephone banking (which you'll need for online banking), don't bother ring them instead (you can arrange the switch at the same time), it's much quicker (and surprisingly rather painless), and you can use a nifty iphone app to generate a digital secure key (obviously only if you have an iphone). You can then deposit the £1750, setup the ISA, etc , nice and easy, all done and just waiting for incentive..
