Old phone on T Mobile, which network?
Options
My friend has an old Samsung Galaxy S3, she had it on contract on T Mobile network, she hasn't been using it for quite a while, she wants to give it to someone else to use, but T Mobile don't exist anymore. I suppose it is locked to the T Mobile Network, but if she uses an EE PAYG sim card, will it work?

It can be unlocked for less that £10 by EE and for free if you google it by using the service menus.
It will work (without unlocking) with any new EE sim as they use T-Mobile's network code - as do Virgin and others such as ASDA mobile. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks, I told her about the T Mobile sim cards on Ebay. I know you can find out about the way to unlock her phone but I doubt she would want to do that.0

The company behind it is called Chromevalue Ltd and if EE had chosen it as an associate company then it's strange it chose one with a poor reputation http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?264995-chitter-chatter0 -

There are often times when you post when I think there is something wrong with you.
This is yet another one of those times.
Usually I don't waste my time in replying to you at all, but your post just takes the biscuit.
First of all, they run the official EE eBay outlet: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ee-uk-shop
Secondly, they used to have a wide ranging High Street presence and still have nine stores.
Thirdly, they've been in existence for twenty years.
Yet you dig up a thread from five years ago where someone had a problem with a mobile phone repair and use it to accuse them of having a poor reputation.
You sir, are an ejit.
All this over a link that I've posted for a SIM costing 99 pence.
Then, so as to further waste the time of everyone here, you post a link to the EE website....totally useless, as you cannot obtain nor purchase the same SIM package from that website.
So, what was the purpose of your post? To put someone off from buying a SIM for 99p?
That would be particularly dopey, especially as they can't obtain the same package anywhere else at that price.
Worst of all, these were the people who were selling the 100 MB per month free for life data SIM(linked to from EE's website) that you simply could not get your head around and where you ended up giving everyone a headache.
Now here you are slagging them off, without a clue...as is usual.
I've bought many a SIM from them over the years.0 -

ChitterChatter has been an official outlet since the T-Mobile days of the 1990's, when EE was launched EE made them a 'key launch partner' essentially putting them on par with their own EE stores.
There is nothing untoward about the ChitterChatter relationship with EE.====0
